I made a 19 plate dry cell. Installed it on my 93 f-150. I did get 3 to 4 mpg better at first then it went down to lower than normal. That was ducting right into the air box. After seeing how you did yours I tried that. Now consistently getting 4 to 4.5 mpg better. I don't believe my 302 has the map sensor, at least I cant find one. That sensor on the intake hose is the IAT Intake Air Temperature sensor. It tells the computer the temp of the air flowing through the intake and it adjusts the fuel trim (ie. Richer for colder temps and leaner for hotter temps).

All these HHO generators look fascinating. The fuel economy reports are almost unbelievable. I know a guy who put one in his car and it worked for a short time until the O2 sensors made the fuel mix go rich and the guy lost all that economy. How do you make it work in spite of the factory-programmed fuel mixture?
@jonnyt339710 жыл бұрын
You need an EFIE (Electronic Fuel Injector Enhancer)...look it up on Google, you need to wire it into your O2 sensors and trick the computer into a rich mixture, so the computer will lean out the fuel. Its not hard to install, plenty of videos on how to install a EFIE.
@TheJason139 жыл бұрын
Joe Mumbach there are also O2 stand-offs that back the sensor out of the exhaust just a little bit so that it doesn't read the excess air/oxygen.
@alexparrott65582 жыл бұрын
Or you just buy a system that separates the oxygen and the hydrogen and only inject the hydrogen into your car. When you buy those kits you don't have to worry about the auction sensors picking up extra oxygen in the exhaust and making your car run rich instead the car will actually run a smidge leaner giving you better fuel mileage even further
@cipriansofineti346 Жыл бұрын
its not only the O2 sensor, but the catalytic convertor as well, it gets hot glowing when running on lean AFR due to O2 excess in exhaust.

That setup only lasts for a limited time. Running fuel, in your intake, will confuse the computer. You get great mileage for a time. Then your mileage will decrease about 10ish mpg. A little later, it will go down further until eventually it's close to what your vehicle can do without supplemental fuel. Oh, and your check engine light will illuminate. Unless your vehicle is tuned for the supplemental fuel, that is added to the intake, it will not be able to run correctly. The only way you can achieve better mileage is running the supplemental fuel into the fuel injection system as a duel fuel setup.

CSquared An HHO generator gets a bad rep but it does work depending on your set up. A larger motor will need a bigger generator. But the real problem is the computer in modern cars doesn't let the generator do it's job efficiently so than your mpg goes back down to normal. But many people have made electrolyzers in carburated or Diesel cars and it works perfectly fine even to the point where if the hydrogen and oxygen ratio are perfect for your personal vehicle than it won't need gas at all. Just look at this car completely gas free kzbin.info/www/bejne/i2TdoImqbamma80

i'm not skeptical, but i have some questions... That is a fuel injected vehicle. how did you get around the o2 sensor freaking out with the extra oxygen? o2 sensors do not read hydrogen but do pick up the extra oxygen. in short, these issues usually cause the ECU to freak out and go into a wide open gas dump, or to restrict the gas if it thinks the engine is running too rich or lean. It will change the fuel to air ratio to what it thinks is accurate, but since it doesn't pick up hydrogen, it is always burning lean with the extra oxygen and it opens the pulse width of the fuel injectors and lets the max amount of fuel through, thus being counterproductive to mpg gains. but, you DO in fact gain horsepower.... because it's pouring fuel into the engine..... Also, how much HHO are you pumping into the engine? typically, if it's a small amount, then the ecu can compensate by using various other sensors if the engine is running rough. But it seems that any of the potential gains get tuned out with the ECU as it tries to compensate... meanwhile, too much HHO is not good, because, HHO turns into water. water turns into rust. rust turns into expensive engine swap and a pissed off wife. again, not skeptical.... just looking for more info... thx
@BlisAx9 жыл бұрын
ThinkSpore .com Well the ECU will not see the extra Oxygen because during combustion it burns with the Hydrogen. It's a one to one exchange. You said " but since it doesn't pick up hydrogen, it is always burning lean with the extra oxygen ", Hydrogen isn't actually flammable by it's self, like anything else it needs oxygen to burn. The burning of the hydrogen makes H2O, which takes up all the extra oxygen supplied by the HHO gas.
@MythicGuitarCompany9 жыл бұрын
batchnerd sounds like a good theory. It holds water..... pun intended... I have read a lot of articles, which may or may not be accurate about people having to use spacers on their 02 sensors and various things due to issues. @MythicGuitarCompany9 жыл бұрын
batchnerd i see my mistake. I meant mass airflow sensor in my original post not 02 sensors.
@BlisAx9 жыл бұрын
ThinkSpore .com He got lucky and put a hose to inject the HHO after the mass airflow sensor. This is the way it needs to be done so the computer does not add more fuel. What you are doing here is giving the engine 2 fuel sources. The ECU cannot know about the extra oxygen, because if it does it will add more fuel and run a rich mixture. Rich because the oxygen from the HHO recombines during the combustion process, leaving the extra fuel the ECU added to be spit out the tail pipe.

like that , in CZECH that made some old man on opel vectra ( 3.8l- 5l / 100km) but is that "UNIT" safety ? (me prefer 1.9 47 Kw Diesel engine) but its only for fun and work... on small VW pickup that take 4-5 L / 100km on custom chassis you can take it under 3.6 L (cca one gallon per 100km)
