THANK YOU very much. We lowered the fuel tank, disconnected all the lines, but could not pull the fuel tank out of the front. Learned the hard way that we had to remove a frame cross-member in order to get enough room (about an inch) to remove the fuel tank. So we researched the internet, saw your video, and said let's try that -- and it Worked!!. Had the car jacked up on solid wood blocks about 8", so there was enough room to remove the fuel pump and replace it with a new one. That you so much. Only took about 30 minutes to replace the actual pump. Your video gave us the right solution for our situtation.

You're welcome. I'm so glad I could help. Hopefully that pump lasts for a long time and you won't have to change it again. Thank you for commenting.

Might have to do it this way. Currently stuck, not able to pull the front part out, feels like a vent valve is hitting something up top where it sits on that ledge. Someone mentioned it had some sort of sound deadening foam that one can yank out and it'll slide out. But your solution seems like an easier route. Great video, thanks.

If you had taller jackstands you could've tilted further. And take the Wheels off gives you way more room. Good video.

Hello.. Can you tell me what Delphi number pump you used? I have a 2005 and I have not been able to find the right pump. They all have wires that come out the top with 2 connectors. Looks like the one here is what I have with the four conductor electrical plug molded in the pump top.

Hi Mike. Try FG1271 or maybe FG1052. I can't recall the specific part #. If I recall correctly, the fuel pump in the video I made had 2 wires with connectors coming out of the top. Sorry I can't be of more help.

@@Ryan-sl2oe Thanks Ryan. Yeah the ones with wires coming out the top really are not right for my car. Might be able to hard-wire it though. For those who might read this .. Talking with the Ford dealer this morning the P/N for the right pump for me is 7L2Z-98307. Gee only $480 at the dealership!! Might be $302 at Ford parts online. Ouchee!

I can’t get the front strap off:( it’s a 15mm bolt with that lock clip guy on it I’m supposed to either squeeze or spread and nothing is working. Had the same trouble with the identical bolt mext to it that held the skid plate but since that one was one of five I broke that corner of the skid plate and now I’m gonna saws-all the strap bolt off and replace with a nut and bolt. It just spins!

@@joshualunsford8511 sorry for your luck. I've never had that issue when working on tank straps from a vehicle of this age. My suggestion would be to have it towed to a shop and let them fix it due to the danger of cutting or heating those bolts around gas fumes. You don't need a fire. If you decide to continue yourself, you could try cutting the tank straps with a Sawzall and once the tank is out and moved a safe distance away, you could use an angle grinder to cut the bolts. Then you'd have to buy new tank straps and hardware to put it back together. Good luck and be safe.
