I been watching your videos here last week or so on Road Kings, I'm really close to buying a 05 custom with 23400 miles on it. I had a 03 Electra Glide with the 88 on it also. I had the Cam problem with it, And up dated it to gear cam ,got rid of the pads all together, What is your thoughts on the cam pads on this model?? One you are on here, 30 some thousand miles, It could be ready any minute to have big problems because of the cam pads. Your thoughts on it??

weakness of these engine is cheap cam tensions HD placed that needs to be changed every 20-30k miles or you can replace with gear drive if your crank runoff is within spec 3k inches or less.Yes its a beatiful bike but that issue which is very common issue makes Twin Cam design kind of bla.

Does the 2005 Road King still have the 1450 engine or did they upgrade to their 1540 then?

I thought Harley uses ci's to measure engine displacement... not cc's?

I like Road Kings too. I like the Fat Boy too. Not as much as my Victory bikes but they still cool. :)

U never did answer my question! And I am looking at a 05 now with 18600 miles on it. Cam pad issue is there waiting to be fixed or break --Correct??

Have you changed the chain tensioners? I went to gear drive just as the tensioners were coming apart!
