I used this vid to take my carbs out, great tutorial, found my rubber gasket from the bottom of the back cap the the eng was completely broken, the clamp was nearly fastened to the raw metal, so maybe thats why during idle my bike has a miss or a pop to it.

Thanks Jesse, glad this video helped! Replacing those boots is as important or more than cleaning the carb. Keeps water and debris from getting in and ruining the motor.

@Ashton Merrick thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm in the hacking process atm. I see it takes a while so I will reply here later with my results.

That has got to be the weirdest looking carb I've ever seen lol. I have been pulling wrenches most of my life this is a good video it tells you what you need to know. It told me exactly what I wanted to do and that was I'm going to let someone else to do the job. 😃 Thanks

Japanese Phillips is different than all others, JIS (Japanese Industrial Standard) getting some of those bits or screw drives would help on not stripping them out. I have a 06 Arctic Cat with that engine,not looking forward to taking the carbs off.

What a PITA just to remove the carb. I need to clean mine on my BF300. Not looking forward to it. After letting it sit it will only run with the choke on.

My Brute 750 cranks forever when cold. Any idea if it could be dirty carbs? And thanks for the video.

Any ideas how to remove my seat . Managed to somehow put it on slightly twisted, so the back hooks, one is in correctly, I think, the other is not, release lever is stuck in the up position, and now I cannot get the stupid seat off.

I cleaned my carb on my 650 Kawasaki atv after washing in pale with cover on shaking it up and then leaving set for a cou[ple of hours.I then opened up pale and found two very small flat silver washers in bottom of pale.I do not know where they go!!!! Need help please!!!!!!!!!!!
@ranstrickjc9 жыл бұрын
Brent, if memory serves me, they are your spacer washers for your long needle. The needle is a couple inches long and should look similar to a nail. The washers slide over the sharp end and will be stopped at the end by the head of the needle. What they do is keep the tip of the needle from going to far into the main jet. Those are technically shims designed to give your brute more fuel at all throttle positions. Hope this helps.

Hi, what's the part number for the carb boots? Is it #16065? And where did you order from?
@ranstrickjc6 жыл бұрын
Ryan Noel-Hodge I’m honestly not sure it’s been a while since I did this repair. MRCycles is where I ordered them from I believe. Just type in the info for your year and it should show you which one you need. They were under $10 pretty sure. Hope this helps!

I am mechanically retarded. choke cable seems to be seized, if I wanted to remove it / clean it, do I gotta take all the panels/ air filter like you did to get access to it. I can't seem to see where it goes into the carb
@ranstrickjc10 жыл бұрын
You might be able to skip some of these steps, but both choke cables are in difficult to reach places. Go back to the part in my video where I get to those cables and pause so you can locate where they are on your brute. The are both towards the lower sides of the carbs. Some carb cleaner should help loosen them up but if they are seized it's probably due to gas sitting in them for a long period of time and I would recommend going forward with a removal of the carb and full clean (see my other video on that.) It will make a huge difference in the overall performance, especially during cold weather. Let me know if you still have questions, I'll do my best to help.
