I just had the P1445 code pop up with the P0456 code. You saved me so much research time! I will go check my easy accessible valves now. I did find smaller vacuum leak earlier tonight already. Your video is very helpful. Thank You!

I believe you are partially correct in your description/analysis of this Secondary Air Injection Control System. As you mentioned, the Secondary Air Injection Control components are controlled via a combination of the ECU and the Air Injector controller. The Air Injector controller is located in engine compartment on driver's side directly aft of the Battery. In order for the Air Injection control driver to activate the Air Pump and the Air Switching valve, certain parameters must be met by inputs into the ECU. The Air Pressure sensor located at the output of the Air pump monitors whether the air pump is operating or not by detecting an increase in air pressure when the Air pump is activated on (and sends signal DIRECTLY to ECU). The Air Injector Control Driver actually controls the operation of the Air pump and Air switching valve via the inputs it receives from the ECU. The confusion occurs due to the fact that the TOYAOTA manual does not clearly delineate between the Air Switching Valve (QTY 1) and the 2 Air switching valves (which are controlled via vacuum). So the inputs SIP , SIV into the Air Injection Control Driver ultimately control the Air Pump and Air Switching valve Respectively. The Toyota manual doe NOT make a clear distinction between the Air Switching Valve (controlled electronically and only QTY of 1) and the Air Switching Valves (QTY 2, bank 1 and Bank 2 and both controlled via the outputs of the QTY 2 vacuum switching solenoids located on right top of manifold, passenger side). Thanks for your GREAT Video !!!!

Amperage for the Air pump can be detected at the Air Injection Control Driver located AFT of the battery in the Engine Compartment , drivers side. There's a connector with big gauge wire colored Red. It's a high amperage cable #14 or #16. This red wire is the output of the Air Injection Control Driver feeding the Air Pump directly.

Great informative video, thanks for taking the time and sharing all this information. I have a question regarding the main vacuum source coming from the intake mentioned in minute 42 of the video, does the vacuum have to be active all the time when running the vehicle or only when cold start? The reason I ask is because I do not have vacuum, I checked when the car was fully warmed up.

If you were to check resistance, you check with the white and red wires,right ? If you check the solenoid,but it doesn’t click,you need to replace it,right or check all the systems’ component first and then replace it ?

First of all,thanks for your infos. On the other hand, my 07 GX470 has those codes. And it also has a VSC and trac lights on,too. But the two codes concern me, they are P1442 & P1445. I don’t have a scan tool to check data. Anyways,what is the normal psi reading for both air pressure ?

Good info, I have found where you can buy a Bypass plug in kit from Rutech Solutuins to bypass this.

I don’t know how that works.

KY, did you solve the issue causing DTC.? I've a 4.7L VVT, I tested all S.A.I systems and they check OKAY. Yet kept getting P1445 (BK2 stuck closed) & P1442 (BK1 stuck close).

Unfortunately I didn’t. Problem is intermittent and it was not present during testing but most common part that fail is air pump.

Did you ever get the trouble codes to come back on?
@kyhomegarage34306 жыл бұрын
I don't know I believe it did. This was long time ago and after brake job I didn't work on this car any more. This was intermittent problem and I couldn't duplicate problem during my testing. Thank you.

I understand,thanks for the video and getting back,If it helps anybody,I did all the test also and everything checked out good.And then after letting it set and actually got good and cooled down, I fired it up and paid a little closer attention and for a minute or two you could hear that fan whirling and make some odd noises, and they say since you’re in there and everything’s pretty much contaminated from the busted fan blades,replace it all $$$
