Yes...nothing like being able to make a sports car "sing" while being able to actually run through the gears, without breaking the speed limits! But THIS car really has changed my mind in that regard!...And I would not even care, if people thought the car was too obnoxiously loud!

Seriously, lotus and Porsche are my top two manufacturers in term of the automotive ethos I want to own. Exige has been my dream car for decades! I love them so much.
@davidroush12242 жыл бұрын
Both great companies. Lotus is top in my book for daily fun on the streets/curvy roads in the country. Newer Porsches don't excite me when driving them .... too removed from the physical feedback of the road. Fantastic cars, but almost feel sterile and without soul. A friend and I traded cars on a local curvy country road. His 993 turbo was set up for track days and very fast. Smoked my Elise on the straights and even the faster corners. But I reallty didn't feel the road much through the steering wheel, the AC and stereo made it feel like I was in an isolation chamber. About 10 miles down the road we got out to trade back. I was happy to give the much moer expensive Porsche back; he was smiling and he said that he needed to get a Lotus too. Again, both great cars - Porsche is defintiely better as a daily driver .... not even close. But for a couple hours on a curvy road and as a second car just for fun, it isn't even close for me having driven a lot of different sports cars over the last 4 decades. It literally feels like no other street car I've driven. I doubt I'll ever sell my Elise and will pass it on to my kids as a family treasure. If you ever get a chance, you need to drive both then see which appeals to you more.

Toyota built the Celica GTS from the ground up with the intent of beating the Integra Type-R on the racetrack. They made the GTS lighter than the Type-R and went balls to the wall to build an engine that would own the Type-R on the track. Toyota Failed and the older Integra Type-R still beat the Celica on the track. It was such a HUGE loss for Toyota they gave up on sports cars for a decade and set the lame goal of selling more cars than Honda. Not better cars, not faster cars, there goal became simply more cars.
