I hate what those damn EGR valves do to the throttle body and intake, what a mess. I did the PCV valves on my 3 and 6 with the engine in the car. The 3 has much more room than the 6 so it wasn't as hard. Thanks for sharing I'm sure this will help folks!

I'm lining up to do this. Gathering parts and whatnot. Not looking forward to it at all! -PCV valve -Purge Valve -Intake Gaskets

@@benjimann4438 If it's on a 3 it's not that hard. Don't stress over it. Take your time and do the best you can. Good luck!

Do you really need to remove the intake manifold completely only to replace the gaskets? I don't think so. One can probably remove the eight screws holding it and pull it out enough to be able to remove and add the new gaskets. Haven't done it myself, but that's what I will try. Very often have I managed to work things out this way. It leaves you with tighter workspace but it is definitely easier for the DIYer and you don't risk damaging components and hoses that have been working well this far.

Just picked up a 2004 mazda 3 2.3l.. just now noticed there water in the oil..you think it's faster to just swap the engine or chance it being just the head gasket or cracked head?

It could run for a while but all that water mixing with oil is going to wear out engine components. Its basically on borrowed time. Seeing how its only water in oil issue then you might try one of the head gasket sealing products. Follow the directions to the letter . I havent tried those personally but at this point youve really got nothing to lose . They have some videos up on how to use the head gasket sealer as well and apparently others have had some succcess. Myself i would start the search for another engine. I know the 2.3l are pricey so check everywhere . I like ebay alot myself they have a money back guarantee and can deliver it to your door step. Best of luck on your project and thank you for watching

Hello! Is it possible to do in without taking the engine out? If so, please share some wisdom, thanks!

It definitely could be done , I haven't personally attempted it . But it would require removing the cooling fan at the very least and possibly the radiator . It won't be easy for the simple fact there are a lot of wire attachments but taking ones time it could be done . Thanks for watching
