What a great video. I watch this whenever I need a pick-up. Really great job putting all those clips together. Really get the feel of how it was a week long event of insanity. If you could have harnessed the energy in the stadium that night I think you could have enough electricity to run the country for a week. This should be the recruiting video penn state uses.

I graduated PSU in 1992 and the loudest game I was ever at was prolly the '91 game where we beat Notre Dame --- but the 2005 Ohio State game was easily 3 times louder! It was deafening as I watched it on TV --- even the Ohio State players admitted it was the loudest game they ever played. This was prolly the last truly "great game" PSU has won. I was also proud of how the PSU students showed up in force on this night, because I can remember a lot of half-empty student sections in the early 90's when I was there. Seems like we only showed up for the Notre Dame games back then.

Best regular season college game ever played. We sat on the 35 in section EH and it was nuts. Never been to a game that intense in happy valley since and we have season tickets. It was hyped beyond belief and the reality outmatched the hype, BIGTIME. When Poz sacked Troy smith, man I’m telling you the noise was so loud, it seemed that the noise was literally like water running into your ears. SO FUCKING LOUD. I’ve watched a game at Texas A&M, Virginia, Virginia tech, Michigan and OSU, and they don’t hold a candle. The night before this game was nuts. It lived up to expectations, that’s for sure. RIP J.V.P.

I was at that game! I can honestly say that was the one game where the guy working the speaker system played a little too much zombie nation- cause a few of the railings came off the upper deck cause of the vibrations. It was sick! When Hali sacked troy to finish it the place erupted and went ape!

Penn State won in 1994, 1997, 1999, 2001, 2005, and 2008, which puts it at 6-10 in conference play, which is actually close to a split down the middle (actually 3 out of 8). Before joining the Big Ten, Penn State had a 6-2 record over Ohio State.

Penn State almost scored a safety, which could have made it 19-10, that'd have been great.
@MVillani198517 жыл бұрын
And now that I think about it, it could have a couple times very easily been another TD for PSU on top of that, and Troy Smith's scramble was nothing but dumb luck. This could have been a 26-3 beating, and that's what it looked like on the field.
@MVillani198515 жыл бұрын
Well, Michigan fans on here thought I was crazy last year for picking the Wolverines to lose to Utah, Notre Dame, Penn State, Ohio State, and Illinois, while beating Wisconsin. Purdue will be greatly improved this year, so I wouldn't be so quick to count them out. I think for Ohio State in 2008 the real question is whether Saine and Boom will be more like Royster/Green of PSU or more like Hill/Clay of Wisconsin. Also, we have to see how Pryor does passing the ball and how the young WRs do.

The thing with the Horseshoe is that night games are generally very crazy and very loud and day games are generally dead. The stadium always sell out but the crowd will sit on their hands a lot. I was at the Purdue game last year and fans were leaving with like 2 minutes left to go and those assholes missed an incredible comeback. Go Bucks!

Say the word "Hamby" to any OSU fan and they'll start frothing at the mouth. Not only did he miss an easy block that resulted in the Troy Smith sack/fumble, but he also dropped an easy TD catch against Texas that year. Hamby....Grrrrr! By the way Penn State, great game. Look forward to more nailbiters!

....PENN STATE!!! While this is a great game, I wish Penn State would have gone for the jugular after going up 17-10 instead of squatting on the ball for the second half, since a 31-10 beating would have been an even bigger statement game. But still, this was a great game and great season. I think that the 2005 Nittany Lions are one of the most underrated teams of all time. This team usually not only won but DOMINATED their opponents, including a great Wisconsin team.

I predict Ohio State losing to USC, PSU, Iowa, and Purdue. The biggest difference is that in 2006, Wells, Robiskie, and other 2007 starters got to share time as starters for a year. I knew in 2007 that Ohio State was more loaded than people thought. Pryor's passing may have improved, but how many WRs are returning? A returning QB but with a lot of changes at WR and a new RB sounds a lot like 2003 to 2004 OSU. I wouldn't worry about Illinois, though. I don't expect them to be much this year.

I still think it should be called Paternoville. I think Nittanyville sounds really dumb... Plus, it was born in the JoePa era. Now that we have our 409 back, I think it should have its proper name restored. I realize that it's a new round of students who weren't PSU students while JoePa was alive, but he is as much a legend to them as he was to us.
@jcdfbdus9 жыл бұрын
+Katie S There's a lot of current students pushing for the renaming at campus too, however, I don't think it should happen right now. Leave it as Nittanyville for a couple more years and feel the situation then. I could have been here for the end of the Paterno-era but I went to the military instead, but kept a watchful eye on everything that was Penn State football. The end of Paterno's stay here was a lot of pain for a lot of people, and we are only now starting to really heal from those wounds. We need a few years to stay clean and get our reputation as a clean cut university back. I can only recall stories from my friends in Happy Valley while there was protests all around campus saying the university was corrupt and evil and all the negative media attention everyone on campus was getting. If we change the name back right now, it'll get a portion of that attention back, and we don't want that yet.

Penn State practically steamrolled over Ohio State in this game, it wasn't as close as the 17-10 score indicated. If a few things had gone a little differently, it could have easily been 20-10, 24-10, 17-3, 24-3, or some other drubbing. More than anything it was the defense that aboslutely drubbed the Buckeyes.

I'll give you 1999, but Penn State only finished 10-3 that year after "The Collapse". 2001 may have been a rebuilding year, but that was a 5-7 Penn State squad. And don't tell me the 97 Buckeyes weren't a quality team, they finished tied for 2nd in the conference. Your 1994 team finished 9th in the AP poll and your 2005 team 4th in both polls. And I highly doubt your offense will be as good as the one that barely scraped by a 9-3 Penn State squad in 1995. I predict PSU wins by two touchdowns.

yeah osu won. our defense completely fell apart. For the first half of the first quarter, the game really did look like a flashback (osu gets a field goal, then we counter with a touchdown). But whatever, i'm sure anyone who went to the game will tell you they had a good time at least before hand. Personally I'll be rooting for OSU to keep winning so perhaps some critics (cough sec fans cough) will lay off the big ten. But OSU better not blow it again in the bowl game

The series is 12-12, that's not exactly once every four years. You're just bitter that PSU, starting in 2008, has began a series of owning Ohio State. The Buckeyes will lose UGLY in 2009.
@MVillani198515 жыл бұрын
Or at least not by Ohio State fans since I don't predict 13-0 (8-0) every year for Ohio State. If I wanted to be irrational, I'd say PSU wins by a videogame score. I predict that OSU will do well in 2010, 2009 is another story. From what I've seen you're replacing most skill positions. The 1996 Buckeyes IMO were actually better than the 1995 Buckeyes. The 95 OSU team was about equal to, or a little bit below 95 Northwestern. I still don't know how you lost to Michigan those years.

Beaver Stadium is overrated (really about the same loudness as the Shoe). Being in the Buckeyes section in the Upper Deck, The ONLY times of the 2012 game Beaver Stadium was noticeably loud was during most of the 1st quarter and right after the blocked punt. The game was close until the 3rd quarter so no excuses there. If you want a Stadium thats Ear Ringing for FOUR quarters, go to Camp Randall
@3psufan11 жыл бұрын
That's cause the refs blew a holding call and sucked all the life out of the stadium, after that holding call Ohio State had that game easily and I think everyone in the stadium sensed that.

Mind telling me how I made myself look bad? If anything, it makes you look bad to not only be proven wrong, but to resort to weak insults. Now, explain how 6 out of 16 equals 25 percent. Penn State's only bad span was 2000-2004 with the series. Take the dark years out of the equation and the series is 5-7. Now, if you can come back with something meaningful, by all means, please do. Otherwise, it just proves that you're wrong and it's driving you crazy.
@beamerball66612 жыл бұрын
Still the fact that I referred to "The Bear" and you seem to have no clue of who he was tells me you are completely ignorant when it comes to the history of College Football, also you failed to recognize F.B.S as D-1 tells me that I'd have a better conversation with a wall then if we ever chanced to meet in person! If you follow the Big Ten who was the last Heisman winner to play in your conference&who's the last Big Ten Team to win a national title from your conference?
