Highlights from the 2005 USC vs Fresno State game. In a game which many feel secured his Heisman Trophy, Reggie Bush ran for 294 yards on 23 carries, and finished with a total of 513 all-purpose yards (2nd all-time). The #16 Bulldogs made a good game of it, taking a 42-41 lead with less then 10 minutes left, but the #1 Trojans came back to win, 50-42.

This was probably the greatest game i will ever go to. Fresno State came sooo close to one of the best upsets in their history. Fresno State will probably go to a BCS bowl game next year, i can just feel it. They will be very good. I give respect to USC, they won, i just wish we could play em again. Half of Fresno States games are beat downs. I just wish Fresno could get more national exposure, because players like Clifton Smith went unnoticed, and hes a real special player.

What a great game that was. But you wouldn't know it from watching this. When I saw the title of this video, I thought it was actually gonna be a great clip featuring highlights from BOTH teams. yeah. It was a drubbing until Fresno layed off a bit. We have them again next year at K state though. We also scheduled UCLA, Wisconsin and Toledo. Not a bad NC sched.

yea, that SC defense gave up a lot of points all season, it was just overshadowed because the offense scored at will. im a SC season ticket holder, and i would say of all of Carroll's defenses, that one is at the bottom of the list, and that goes beyond what VY did to us.

Gotta remember though, with the advent of the BCS series, all non BCS schools would have to play decent schedules. Only reason Hawaii got in this year was because everyone else kept losing. I think Hawaii had like the 3rd weakest schedule in football

When did this discussion become an argument over national titles? Fact of the matter is that the WAC has been a weak conference for many years. The only chance for a WAC team to win a national title is to play a monsterous non conference schedule (Like Fresno did in 2001, when they beat Colorado, Wisconsin, and the preseason #1 Oregon State)and then proceed to go undefeated. Needless to say, it was a great game. THey should play again soon!

I'm glad that USC hasn't been winning some games just because of the ref's this season. If any of you watched this game, there where some questionable calls, just like the infamous Notre Dame game. USC is still a great team without the ref's, but they have gotten away from some tight spots because of them.

Obviously a very USC-oriented highlight reel. Fresno St. came to play that night and played their hearts out. If they hadn't, Reggie might not have won the Heisman that year. It was his epic performance in this game that sealed the deal - although he followed it up with a great game against UCLA as well. He was usually out of the game by the 4th quarter, but not that night. Like a lot of USC fans, I was quite nervous before this game. The #16 ranked Bulldogs had a very prolific offense (averaging about 40 pts./game coming in) and USC's defense was average at best - nowhere near as good as the year before. In 2005 they only held 3 teams to 13 points or less with no shutouts (23 pts. against avg.). The 2004 team achieved that distinction 8 times with two shutouts (13 pts. against avg). Tremendous battle that night by both teams.

@me9rob There is one issue. The players USC would be upgraded at (MLB & DT) were not issues vs Texas. The issues were at DE and OLB and DEs were the same and OLB were more athletic and better suited to stop young in 05. Grootegoed vs VY in the open field? VY would beat the CFL special teamer. Also consider that USC's offense was FAR better in 05 than 04. Texas probably still wins, however it would be close. It would prob be Texas winning in a 7 game series in either game 6 or 7.

You only showed highlights of usc, that was a big mistake. That game was the best game of the year. If you watch the score, Fresno State gave them a dog fight. Bush was too fast he was hard to stop but the dogs were relentless. They came up a little short but all the usc fans were giving them their props. Great game though

I remember thinking when I watched it "whoever has the ball on the last possession is going to win" and that's what happened. This video is 100% disappointing. When you throw four interceptions, including a pick six and another by a third string db (Brandon Ting) you deserve to lose. Just be grateful you came within a touchdown and a two-point conversion.
