2006-2009 Ford Fusion/Mercury Milan Door Handle Replacement

In this video I go through each step and show how to replace an interior door on a 2006 Ford Fusion SEL. This repair will apply to 2006-2009 Ford Fusions and Mercury Milans.

7mm & 8mm Socket
Ratchet
Flathead screwdriver or claw tool
T20 Torx Bit
Small pick or very small flathead

Great video. Did this myself in a few minutes. Note, I didn't remove the electrical connections. The cable was long enough that I could rest the panel on the ground while working on the handle.

Excellent video, went on quickly no problems except getting the initial tab part out. I used a stanley box cutter blade to wedge it out. Thank you for your step by step very helpful!

Thank you for this video! My husband and I successfully replaced the driver's side front door handle on a mercury milan. There were more cords and 2 screws on the door panel not one but all the details of your video provided enough information. It was one of the easiest repairs we have ever done.

When the drivers door of my '08 broke, I learned that if you pull the door handle and lock at the same time the door opens. That was 5 years ago. Doubt I'll ever replace it.

I did this replacement but my key fob button isn’t activating the lock idk if it’s not strong enough now because it’s been broken for so long or if I just connected it wrong but the handle works fine and the lock it just doesn’t work with the key lock button any suggestions ???

Quick question is that the same way you would put in a driver side door?

It is similar not exactly the same. The configuration is slightly different behind the door panel as it is bigger and there are more wires on the wire harness.

Yes, this video is done on a car with power locks.

what if when you try to place the door handle latch cable into the new handle it’s extremely tight

You can try to put a little grease on it to see if will slide on. I bought an aftermarket door handle that I had that issue with. I put some grease on it and pushed hard and it slid on.
