@@605BOLT So I ordered a valve cover gasket from Ford but it didn't come with vvt solenoid gasket or tube (spark plug) seals/gaskets. Did you replace them as well? I see Advance Auto's reviews on the part claim that the vvt seal is wrong with the kit and that I need to order a new complete valve cover which will have the seal already, but that seems extreme. Thoughts?

Good video! I may attempt this repair myself on my 08 fusion as mine has been leaking for several years, but appears to be getting worse. Could you provide details on that pulley puller you used? The auto shop said it’s like $1000 dollar puller, but there must be a much cheaper tool available online that will get the job done.
@605BOLT Жыл бұрын
The puller for removing the pulley is a steering wheel puller similar to this. amzn.to/3OG4JVm Most parts stores have them to rent. Definitely not $1000. It's not a difficult job. @@geno3437 if you thread into the end of the camshaft sure. But pullers only pull. They can't push because they aren't mounted to the camshaft. You would need to thread into the end of the cam to push if that makes sense.

Looks like a job my 07 might need. So many things though, gaskets, the belt, I don't even have a torque wrench, all for that little leak by the pulley. Probably not even worth it for a 2007. But damm good video. I will add to Fusion playlist just in case.
@605BOLT2 жыл бұрын
Torque wrench probably isn't necessary if you have a good feel for working on cars. Just wanted to try and do this "by the book". Ya it's no big deal if it leaks a little but the car was pretty nice so I didn't want the smell for my wife at the time because that was it's only problem.
