I just have a simple muffler delete and it’s perfect! Not to loud and raspy or obnoxious but still perfect and deep and when you get on it people know your there

Are you getting any engine vibration after lowering the car? It was a common issue with the 2nd Gen W-Bodies with the 3400 and 3800 engines, curious if it still happens with the 3.6. The solution is to install a set of shortened dog bone mounts (ZZP sells those, too.)

I’m not! I have heard of that too and also when the transmission shifts up I’ve heard people get a bad jolt feeling! So far they have been great and as you could probably tell this is a older video so I’ve had them on now for about 6 months and they are great! The only thing unfortunately with the ZZPerformance shorter dog bones they offer them only in a pair for the Grand Prixs (3800) so you would have a extra one. Also they are pretty close to the same size as the stock length 3.6l as the dog bones for the 3800 are much longer than the stock length 3.6 ones.

@@Guido19 Ah, that makes complete sense - the DOHC engine is quite a bit more bulbous than the old OHV's were. Glad to hear there's no vibration, that would suck trying to modify a 3.6 dog bone!!

I have a 2013 impala and installed zzp springs w/ kyb struts yesterday. I had some vibration at wide open throttle and decided to put it back to stock. I have a highway right by my house with a newly paced smooth road.

Yeah OK, but my mechanic buddy said that If you lower the car from its ORIGINAL RIDE HEIGHT, the piston INSIDE the FACTORY STRUT will be outta place. AND when you're driving down the road, that PISTON that is inside the FACTORY STRUT will " bottom out " . So my question is " Should you INSTALL a LOWERING SHOCK ABSORBER also ? "

Yes that is 100% true! You gotta really be driving like crap and really hitting bumps real hard and real fast for that to happen and regardless if your vehicle is lowered or not you shouldn’t drive like that. But yes if your driving like crap they will bottom out but that’s why they have bump stops on the shock absorbers so that doesn’t happen you can also get bigger longer bump stops as well too to add more dampening from completely bottoming out. And yes you can upgrade to a better more performance oriented shock which would be ideal which is what I will do once my current ones go bad but on stock shocks they are fine. And the last question is up to you! If you want a better look with better handling I would do it but if you just have a daily driver maybe don’t do it cause there is also a skill on driving with having them. Constantly being alert and making sure to not go over crazy terrain

I’ll called ZZP and they said I need the anti pogo washers too. Any issues? I thought according to the forums they were only needed for 3800 cars.

No you don’t! I have ran the lowering springs on my stock shock absorbers for probably the better part of 6 months. I actually did get the anti pogo washers cause they are cheap and who cares if they really work or not but I haven’t noticed anything difference so….
