I put a 5 ft pipe on a breaker bar and that bolt did not budge, I even PB Blastered it every day for a week before knowing that bottom bolt was a B^%$h. I ended up cutting the nut off with a cutting wheel. Went and bought 2 grade 8 bolts. You did a nice video but people need to be prepared to cut them out.

Nice work. Gotta say...this must be somewhere out West, or someplace other than the East Coast...NO WAY is the underside of a 2006 Element that clean and bolts that forgiving!! = ))

We are in Florida. Near the coast, but not close enough for the salt spray that turns cars to rust. I also think the fact that we only have 1 season year round helps stop the decay as well.

@@APDTY You're not kidding and especially Hondas. Any suggestions for getting those Evap Canister bolts out for us DIY'ers?
@Denver1976Man2 жыл бұрын
@@gp3yt If they do not come out and break off. Just use a couple self tappers.

I was just laughing looking at the beauty of the underside of that element. I just had my struts done this past week and I live in the Midwest which of course calls for spraying the heck out of all the bolts the day before and once again the hour before trying to remove the bolts from all the rust that can create major chaos🥵 What a luxury not having rust, not to mention how much money 💰💰💰💰💰 you can save

How do u get the bottom one out when it doesn't want to move at all? We have applied air, heat multiple different ways ot will not remove from the nut.

What did you do to get it out?
@Denver1976Man2 жыл бұрын
@@AllenManor You need a cutting wheel. You have to cut the welded nut off and then punch the bolt out. Go and buy 2 grade 8 bolts and nuts and next time it will be easy peasy. Broken 10mm cannister bolts break. 2 self tappers and good to go.

I recommend anti-seize all over that lower strut bolt as they r known 2b troublesome. (shank &threads)
@jaguars082212 жыл бұрын
Probably should have remove the bottom bolts first so they don’t bind from the weight of the struts.

все красиво, но где затяжка динамометрическим ключем ?
@noahburt27224 жыл бұрын
seems like the bottom bolts would have come out easier if you applied some vertical pressure to the strut with a pry bar. Do you think that's the case or is wiggling them for a while the only way to get them out?

Can we used bilstein shocks on our element would the the crv shocks fit them?
@bigbry46542 жыл бұрын
Bilstein had one out but pulled them due to fit issues … they were supposed come back out with them … look on line for more info on the chat boards
