Well here I am in an island off the west coast of British Columbia. 2 years ago this shifting issue happened in Northern B.C. Within about 30 yards from a Grizzly standing on its back legs looking at me. As it went off the side of the road I tried to give it gas and go around. Bike console was flashing and here I was in first and nothing else. Anyway I survived to find your video 2 days ago and got the repair/replacement done. Thank you much for a well explained video! Followed your video went Through the sequence it clicked once but it didn’t change anything we tried it several times again but nothing changed what are we doing wrong, it never clicked again did we burn the sensor out. . Could the ECM be bad we have no way of getting a code on it

Will that sensor keep the quad from going from reverse to neutral? I have to keep rocking in my seat to get it to move.

No there is actually another thing that causes that. Look up shift linkage.

Mine blinks and is stuck in 1st and when I reverse it back fires like crazy. What can I do???

@@FishermanClay8108 I disconnect my battery or key off for a minute and then it's ok.. but I did change the angle sensor and knock on wood, seems like it fixed the problem

I didn’t have that problem, but there is another sensor on side of carb that could I think. It will be a cover with 2 screws. There are several on the bike. Find a motor schematic it will show them. Hope this helps.

He means get the sensor level, so it shifts correctly

I have an ‘07 and an ‘09 both have the same angle sensor. Ordered a new one online. They sent the wrong one even though it calls for that part number. So went to dealer, we looked it up and ordered the part. Not the same as the one I got online but it doesn’t fit either. Anybody else having this problem. Part # from dealer is 38800-HR3-A21 says the same on Amazon. Part #X001WQI4B9 came from online order. Says should fit the Rubicon and 400FA Rancher. It doesn’t. Bolt holes don’t line up. Interesting that both angle sensors that came off the Rubicons have elongated bolt holes to allow some movement to fit correctly. Frustrated!
