Very helpful, thank you! I was stuck not sure whether or not the parking brake assembly had to come off, and you answered that. Also the tricks with the O-ring were spot on. Little more than 'tapping' to get ours apart, but it finally let go. Our issue was an oil leak that was making quite a mess with the parking and inside brake pads. Hopefully this will take care of it.

1:36 unsafe! Good video but Use a ball peen hammer when hitting on Steel. Claw hammers are made for nails, and they are hardened, whereas a ball peen hammer is a bit softer and it won’t shatter. I learned that the hard way, when a piece of a claw hammer shot through one side of my finger and out the other. Worst pain I ever felt

Hey, I’ve got a commander 2006 Hemi and about to tackle my rear bearings. I’m confused about the ABS though. How does this attach to a new hub or does it not connect to the hub? I was wondering as I couldn’t see anything about ABS on some of the wheel bearings I’ve been looking at. Thanks for any help.

GBC18 if you look on the min 1:04 there is a wire there witch is the abs wheel speed sensor also you can see me removing it and that is the way is attached to the hub assemble

I have a 2006 Commander with a rear hub seal leak. If I replace the entire hub, do I have to replace the seal, bearing and race as well? Or will the hub replacement be enough to fix the seal leak?

Why does the axle tear up the inside of the hub. I have to do it again 2 months later.
@gabomsga35435 жыл бұрын
Dis you check if there was a play in it? you may need a new axle. It should be a exact fit not play at all.

I replace the axle and hub at the same time. It's crazy. Are they going keep giving me sub-standard parts? I don't know. Could there be another problem causing this whole issue?

A slide hammer is better for removing the wheel bearing
@davidgarner32753 жыл бұрын
Wait. You went from attempting to remove the brake dust shield to having the entire bearing assembly removed already? What about the steps in between?
@gabomsga35433 жыл бұрын
Dust cover falls as soon as you remove the bearing and that is the way i waa able to do it with one hand by my self sorry for poor quality.
@jeffwyman49685 жыл бұрын
there was a little bit of play. it should be tight with no play. I think all the aftermarket axle shafts are made slightly smaller causing this. napa doesn't list a shaft in its inventory. so I ended up going to the jeep dealer that was 183 dollars. not much more expensive.

You don't have to remove the parking brakes?
@gabomsga35436 жыл бұрын
H Smith no.. you just have to be careful with the speed sensor!

What brand did you buy? Please help

Customer bring his parts. But i would recommend dealer part or something local with life time warranty. I wouldn't get anything from the internet.
