Jeep Commander wheel bearing replacement

In this video, I demonstrate how to remove and replace a front wheel bearing hub assembly on a Jeep Commander. This procedure is very similar for most SUV's and front wheel drive vehicles.

Can exist some play between the splines of the cv joint and the splines of the wheel hub? Of course whitout the nut

My front backing plates are 8 the fuck up.. ;) although I'm very grateful you made this video because now that I realize it's not as much of a pain in the ass as the back with the drum in hat in the emergency brakes I'm actually feeling a little bit better about having to rip off the front hubs to add new backing plates but I'm just going to put new hubs on anyway since I have a 145000 miles

I have a notch in my dust cap in my hub bearing (rear passenger side) its leaking rear end fluid. Can i replace the cap or do I need to replace the entire hub

Would a bad bearing/hub assembly cause it to have a slight angle in the tire

For the axle nut some say 100ftlbs or 185ftlbs. I called 4 different Jeep dealerships and they all gave me a torque spec of 229ftlbs.

Would that be one a reason for a “humming” sound??? My Jeep commander has a humming sound between 40 and 65 miles per hour.

I couldn’t find the correct torque spec for the axle nut. Some say 100ftlbs some say 185ftlbs. I called 4 different Jeep dealerships and all 4 gave me the same 229ftlbs torque spec.
