I have a 2005 Kia Spectra 5 Hatchback that's burning oil slightly. I had a timing belt replaced & new water pump installed & ever since they did that, it started using oil, but it never used oil before. It uses about a pint every couple of weeks. Is the 2005 PCV in the same location & same connections? Thanks.

Could this PVC be resposible for my 2008 Kia Spectra not holding an idle? In park the car starts fine, engine smooth as long as you give it some throttle. As soon as you take your foot off the accelerator the idle drops so low it dies out. However, if you start the car and get it into Neutral, take foot off the accelerator, car stay running normally.

Mine came out with a brass fitting with 45 degree spines threaded to it, I'm assuming this is supposed to have not come out? How do I get it off without damaging it, and do I need to do anything special to re insert it?

@@twelvegageshotgun if I remember correctly it is part of the valve cover. The diagram from the dealer didn't show it

@@dennisbk77 I never really tried looking after the dealership. If I remember correctly it'll be a part of the valve cover.

Is the PCv in same location as Kia spectra ex 07

Sorry not sure , should be easy to find, remove the top engine cover and look for it in similar location

If it's the 2.0L 4 cyl engine, it should be the same. Hyundai/Kia used the same engine in a lot of their cars for several years. If anyone still isn't sure, on the underside of the engine cover it should have the engine model printed or stamped onto it. It should be beta II.

I have code po449 The car sometime. Not Started Is that fix

I don't believe they are related , I had PO449 in winter when it was very cold. Maybe someone else can comment as well.

How do you know when you need to change it or it’s gone bad?

I had a service engine light come on, and OBD code directed me towards the PCV valve as one of the possibilities.
