Watheq Al-Mudhafar it can also be done for your 2007. just make sure it looks the same. I would replace it with a new pump, not a used one because you don't really know how long it's been used and you'll have more peace of mind. make sure to put your seat away from your work area so the black gunk doesn't stain it.

I have a 2005 Spectra that won't start. When I tap on the metal covering the fuel pump I will then hear the pump cycle... then it will start. I removed the connections (2) and sprayed them with contact cleaner and it seemed to help for a few days... then the problem reappeared. So I am guessing the pump itself. Do you recommend changing the whole assembly or just the pump? Tomorrow I am going to try to send 12V to the pump to see if it starts to test it. If it does spin maybe it's something else. I have checked the fuse and swapped the relay with another so it's not that. Maybe I'm reading into this too much and should just bite the bullet and order the pump assembly and call it a day. ($160?). The pump itself is just $63. Great video Luis... thanks for posting.

Davey Cee because the Kia Spectra does not have an external fuel filter and the fuel filter is part of the fuel sending unit I would recommend changing the whole unit it will give you peace of mind and you're not worrying about the next time it's going to go out. you have to consider that the lifespan of most components in the vehicle is about 50 to 70 Thousand Miles if that fuel pump has been going for more than 50 or 60 thousand miles it's time to replace it so it more than likely is going to be your fuel sending unit. This was actually a parts car that had 105,000 miles. No repair was needed. I made the video to help anyone that could use it.

thanks man i have a kia spectra 2002 1.8 16vDOHC the engine has a loud voice when i hit the accelerator specially from prom zero to 20MPH but on speed over 30mph the car can handle speeding easy and i don't have to hit the accelerator all the way down

Eugenia Muniz Hello. Thank you for your view and feedback. The fuel filter is not serviceable like other cars. The fuel sending unit cones with the fuel pump and a filter. If you plan on only replacing the fuel pump, make sure to replace the filter in that unit or your warranty on the fuel pump may be void. Auto parts stores staff don't always tell you that. I usually pay a little more but just replace the whole unit. Easier and peace of mind.

Eugenia Muniz hello, you can purchase the fuel pump or fuel sending unit as a complete unit at any auto parts store such as AutoZone, O'Reilly's, Napa, Pep Boys or any dealer.

Eugenia Muniz don't forget that when you first lift that cover with the black silicone glue, the one that exposes the fuel sending assembly, that glue will stick to your sofas if you're not careful so make sure that you don't put your backseat near that and avoid exposing it to any fabric that you don't want getting stained

LuisElMilUsos 2004 Kia Spectra lx 2.0l the ac is not working (no cold air) knob works ...took to auto shop tested for leaks it's has enough refrigerant all other components good only issue was no power from relay to ac pump suggested look into duct sensor and blower relay replacement

Yes. You can only change the fuel pump in the unit or the whole unit as one. I always like to change the whole thing to make sure nothing fails later after putting it all back together. I don't like to do the job over, unless you get a defective pump, which can happen.

your filter is actually part of your sending unit. when you pull out from tank, you'll see the filter. I was thinking of my Toyota which had an external filter when I said I'd put a video together.

Hi. Lift your rear seat. It should look the same but just in case it doesn't, the concept is the same and works for most vehicles that have the access under the rear seat. Make sure to completely take your seat out of your immediate working area to avoid getting the black silicone Gunk on your seat like I did in my video. My car was a parts car so I was not concerned with any damaged or any dirt getting on the seats.

I think I broke my fuel pump when I was trying to remove the ring with the hammer and flat head. Why didn't you show yourself removing it?

Djamadzzz I'm not sure how you would manage to damage the fuel pump as it is inside the fuel sending unit. You are supposed to tap the screwdriver or metal punch on one of the holes at a time and alternate holes if ring is not cooperating until it starts to turn. I actually do show you by tapping my hammer on my screwdriver in the video. It's a pretty easy step if you are patient. Keep in mind to move your rear seat completely out of the way as the first cover has black silicone and you will stain your seat.

Despe Radio the fuel filter is part of the fuel sending unit. There is no external filter on this car.
