I have an 06 is250 sports luxury. I can’t believe the technology. Bluetooth, heated/cooled seats, touch screen, GPS, adaptive cruise control that sensors the car in front, even a rear automatic blind. Such an amazing car. Mine has 180k km and still goes amazing!

@@stayCscizzorhandz i think the biggest thing is timing belt. Where are you buying it? I’m from Australia. Also the first thing that went for me was the alternator but that was a $400 fix Apart from that just make sure it’s regularly serviced. Parts are cheap at that age and you can get aftermarket or Toyota equivalent

I’m not sure if I’m the only one with this opinion, but I think this car has aged very well. There are times when I see this on the road and I can’t help but think how fresh it still looks in 2024. Certainly some cars from the 2000’s aged not so gracefully, but the Lexus IS has aged quite beautifully. Timeless.

This car was made between 2006 and 2013. Despite its age, it still looks really good, and in fact, it has a timeless shape to it. Even the model you’re driving here, even if it’s the first production year of this car, it still looks fresh in 2024. Comparing this to other cars from the same era, a lot of them have a dated look… but not the IS lineup.

I have a 2006 is 250 with 284,000 miles and still runs smooth and reliably. One of the best cars ever made they last a lifetime and are a hidden gem.

Have your ecu checked they tend to get hot and burn the solenoid drivers. Common issue for the 2006 is250 and gs300

I’ve owned 2 IS350s from this generation and can’t say enough good about this generation IS. If you’re fine with missing out on the power of the ISF or IS350 then you’ll love it to pieces.

Due to a few reviews , comments and discussions on forums about interior space in the is250 I was a bit apprehensive about fitting in. I'm 6 foot 5 - 93kgs slim dad bod build 🙈 and I fit comfortably, there's plenty of adjustment in the seats. Very relaxed driving experience with little but of poke/ pull. From research they do have issues unfortunately. 1. Carbon build up on headers (direct injection) 2. Sticky / melting dash & interior panels. I'm sure some owners could elaborate on others . Considering buying one - car tax In Ireland 🇮🇪 is high 1080euro per year. Great review 💪

If you ever have harsh shifts have your ecu checked they tend to get hot and burn the solenoid drivers. That is the biggest issue that I am aware of and other than that they are very reliable. Good to know that a person that is 6 foot 5 can fit comfortably though.

@@codykorzenowski6888 RR Racing tune adds another 20 hp with more torque, also do a intake and a full catback exhaust with a resonator and the secondary cat delete and you should get another 10 hp easily, definitely feel the difference in the top end

I want one of these, but damn those GS 350’s would give me that 300hp V6 for the first time ever, plus I’m a bigger guy. I fear the IS models may be a tad to small for me, but ya never know cause I could fit in a 2015 Toyota Corolla and I’m 5 foot 8 and 440lbs(working on losing weight.)

I drove my 2008 IS250 for Uber and Lyft for one month. I felt like it was blasphemy to drive such a nice car for rideshare. So...I bought a slow 2015 Toyota Corolla for the rideshare gig. I kept my IS250 and I think it's pretty luxurious. Faster and more luxurious than the Corolla that's for sure!

I have a 2012 IS 350, and in my area the price difference between it and the 250 is almost non existent. Plus my fuel economy isn’t really that much higher than the 250. Still you can’t go wrong with either model of the 2nd Gen IS. I went with the 350 because I only paid few dollars more and got a dual port injected engine, and 102 more hp. Couldn’t turn that deal down lol.

I love the IS 350 and if there is almost no price difference then that’s a really good deal. Only thing I like better on the IS 250 is you can buy them in a manual.

Hey! I got a 2008 model with 128k miles. I change the water pump, Drain and filled the Transmission fluid calm and kept up to date with changing the oil every 3000 miles synthetic blend. Since I am doing OK with maintaining it, should I expect to keep this car to 300k miles. Thanks

@@visionnumber7988 Question; for your IS250 did you ever clean the intake valves because of the Carbon buildup? For me I don’t do the walnut blasting expensive option but my mechanic sprays the valves with a high pressure chemical / detergent. It works and keeps my car performing well. I will do this every 20k miles.

There’s a 2008 model that I am interested in. The seller said I could look at it at the end of this week and test drive it and all. Question: is it true that the second year and beyond of any model generation is better? Whatever problems of the first model year will be remedied? 2006 was the first year, and I prefer a 2008 because Lexus could have ironed out the potential issues with the car. The one I’m interested in has 135k miles and serviced well.

Nothing is always true but still a good recommendation. The automatic transmission was an issue for 06 that should be improved for 2008. It is still a car that I recommend for anyone wanting an affordable luxury car.

I have an 07 IS350 which doesn’t have carbon intake issues and all that. But still… this car is great! IS250 is equally as reliable if you get fuel induction or carbon cleaning every like 60k miles. The 250 is slower but that’s not too important really.

I’m so glad I got myself a 2008 Lexus IS250 instead of getting a 2008 Nissan Altima instead. I think I ultimately made the good choice, because I believe the Altima has a CVT transmission in it and it has overall reliability issues. Yes, my Lexus probably uses a little more, but she’s a beauty. She’s white and I named her “Artax”, after the White Horse from The Never Ending Story. But unlike the horse on the movie, my Artax doesn’t die lol.

Just got an 08 IS250 with only 71,000 Miles! Only problem is there's rust starting to form in the rear fender which is weird cause I have never heard of Lexus rusting that early

It was probably driven on salt roads for winter and was not washed frequently to remove the salt before it did the damage.

Things to look at, service records if they are available, have a mechanic inspect it, drive it and know the automatic transmission on the 2006 was a weak spot.
