still a decent looking car in 2022, I wish Mazda would have better protected it against rust.

I drove a Diesel one of these as a works pool car when they were relatively new. Nice driving position but 100% agree with the lack of rustproofing. Many were killed off before their time due to that.

I have an 07 mazda 6, bought it brand new. I washed it by hand all its life. It never seen a car wash. Guess what, no rust at all !! All these years the paint looks flawless with all the hand waxes I did as well. What makes these cars rust is the car washes with recycled water they use.
@paulsz61942 жыл бұрын
Not just that, but if you live n the Northern Hemisphere, where it snows and salt is used to disperse snow, the salt builds up in all the corners of the car, and slowly begins to rust out. If you were to rinse the car with fresh water after getting home in the winter time, this would greatly reduce your chances of rusting. It of course, this isn’t always possible or practical.

@@jayespi37 Totally agree with you... You make a good point with the recycled water, that would have not been my first thought. But even rising down the car with fresh water will help wash out some of the salt from the roads, but who wants to be washing their car after a night out at a friends place or on the town, who wants to be washing out their car that same night? Care & Maitenance is Key to longevity!

I drive a 2004 141hp version and I love that car so much. Though rust just EATS through it and after 270k km its a constant service job, I keep considering selling it but I just dont want to drive anything else thats in my budget.

I have a 2006 version automatic 2.3L sedan at 270k KMs. I have thought about selling the car but replaced transmission and fixed air intake/idle air control, now ABS issues. Did you find any other major repairs after 270k KMs?
@DADDA2 жыл бұрын
@@jasonxieye8691 I hate the info display, the old one didnt display the most important stats anymore so I replaced it which was a pretty bad job, lots of work for a little thing and ended up not being much better. My parking brake gets stuck every time I use it and I have to get under the car and force it to disengage. All 4 brakes were constantly braking a little, not sure what caused that, so I replaced all of those. Door lock motors seem to be having some issues, most of the time the driver door doesnt unlock with the remote and sometimes the back doors dont lock, so I check every time. Either a wheel bearing or something on the front suspension causes the car to clank every time I take a right turn, which is also not ideal since some of the parts that hold the brakes in place are in a bad state (rusted/stuck nuts, etc) so that Im not sure if it survives taking apart, Ill see about that in a couple months. Exhaust pipe seems to be ready to start leaking soon, by far most rusted part on the underside.

Nice car i have one (mileage 450k+) . Its still looks great especially estate and liftback . The handling is very sporty but this diesel is not powerful enough in my opinion.

Вроде бы дороговаты в обслуживании, а на пробеге под 200к может много чего повылазить под замену, от того и цена низкая. Еще 6ки тех годов гниют хорошо, особенно задние арки.
@timurderden2 жыл бұрын
