Too bad you guys don't have too many actual country roads like we do here in Europe or like where I live up north of Sweden. I have the W112 E500 5 liter V8 4 Matic Stage 1 upgraded and pretty much no speed cameras or cops for weeks at times here on the country side. There's very slim risks down to zero even at forestal roads or abandoned airstrips nearby where I live where I when conditions are "safe'ish" stretch out for miles. Gotta' love that era of older Mercedes how it used to be.

Slightly different mesh in front of the intercooler, but its true E55 and base model the only difference is exhaust, badges, front mesh and engine

It's an RUcarbon steering wheel with alcantara and paddles as I have. They make custom wheels for many Mercedes models, so not just limited to W211's. Much better than the stock steering wheel IMO.

Thanks! These cars are incredibly fun with the raw power they make. The E55’s are definitely becoming more rare, and more desirable since AMG is slowing ditching V8 production for smaller engines. And yes definitely will be posting more POV vids in the future, thanks for watching!

Hey this is a more odd question but normally when it's come to the e55 people only talk about the reliability and performance of this car. What about the ride quality and seat comfort? In comparison to modern day cars how comfortable is the ride and if you had to compare it to a more modern car what would you compare the ride quality to?

For a 16 year old car, the ride quality and seat comfort is on par with some of Mercedes' newer vehicles, the seats are extremely comfy. Ride quality is great as well. Many people replace the factory air suspension for coil-overs to avoid paying $$$ down the road to replace the struts. I still have the stock air suspension, and I can't imagine driving this car without it. It soaks up bumps and imperfections in the road so well, even when the suspension setting is set to the stiffest setting (sport 2).

I got mine on 20 inch wheels, and just few days ago tried out some OEM E55 18 inch wheels on it and its night and day difference but my point is that even on 20 its pretty good for what it is. Air ride is the shit really. I would never ever go for coil overs on it , just pay the price for driving AMG and replace what ever goes bad with OEM parts. End of story

As an E500 owner I figured I should chime in too. The air Suspension is fantastic, and only costs about $1,200 for a new set of bags from Arnott for the Elegance and Avante Garde trimmed E500’s comes with lifetime replacement and is just as smooth. Aside from thrust arms, rear subframe bolts, engine mounts, the trans mount and upper ball joints needing to be regular maintenance items, the suspension feel and drive feel on these cars is fantastic. It truly is worth every penny, plus, if you have an Autel or high end scanner, you can also raise and lower the air suspension via that, so you can adjust the settings manually and get unstuck from snow or traverse other obstacles, whatever they may be. Interior quality is fantastic, I picked up a cosmetically somewhat rough one, and despite using aggressive cleaners and brushes, it came out looking brand new. It’s quieter than a new car inside, even with open headers 😅

I almost bought one last week. Only difference was the one I almost bought was white. This is a collecton dream car of mine but I live in Canada and with the snow and salt, I would never drive this in the winter. I would maybe buy as a second car as a toy but the idea of it being 20 yrs old and Mercedes means I may have to pay an arm and a leg to get anything repaired. It's like and 85 yrs old with no medicare 😂

The e55 actually has 493 horsepower - same as the S55 Cl55 and Sl55. Mercedes just declared that the E55 and CLS55 have less horsepower to promote the sale of the more expensive models

Not true. Mercedes kept the hp lower on a few models so that the extra hp would give reason to move up a class. S Class always got the extra horses.

@@ericsilverado7757 in reality the cars have the same hp but mercedes simply wrote less on the brochure of the e and cls. Same with the c63 6.2, the base model had 454 hp limited just like the gentlemans agreement cars like the supra, r34 skyline etc. Remove the throttle body bottleneck, retune and youre left with the full glorious 500+hp seen in the e63, s63 and cl63

@@kacper.6537 In reality the cars have the same motor, c63, e63, s63, etc. But the S63 has 518hp, the E63 has 507hp, while the C63 gets same motor but "detuned" to like 450hp. It would cost a shit ton of money to make that C63 motor have 518hp. Same with the 55s. E55 has less than the S55. Theres no C55 so we can't discuss that matter. Trust me, my name is Eric AMG.

@@ericsilverado7757 the c63 6.2 literally ONLY has a throttle bottleneck, which limits the throttle body to open only up to 60%. Remove it, retune and youre left with 507 hp.

@@kacper.6537 LOL. Bro, its really not that simple. First off, it's a naturally aspirated engine. No turbo to tune up. You can add cold air intakes, long tube headers, a new exhaust system, etc to get more hp but an engine tune will be needed for mass air flow sensor, not hp. The max hp a tune alone will get you on a N/A motor wouldnt even be noticeable You'd need all the mods. Which aren't cheap as I stated. Feel free to get an estimate on it somewhere.

You can change it in DAS. European and other countries version doesn't beeping, USA beeping. But if you have factory alarm in your car, you can turn it on.

E55 has m113 engine. E63 has m156 which is bigger and more powerful. Both are great(reliable and easy to tune) engines

It's an RUcarbon wheel, they have a whole site with a bunch of steering wheels to choose for most Mercedes models. There are lots of customization options too (leather, carbon fiber, alcantara, whether you want paddle shifters, etc) Honestly, one of the best mods you can do for the E55, I love mine.

2 completely different cars, e92 m3 will totally outclass in terms of handling and probably driving experience, thanks to either manual or DCT and the insane sound at 8000 RPM, but the e55 is just faster. Its so much faster that it competes with modern day musclecars, its faster than 2023 scatpacks, camaro SS and mustang GT
