This was my first car a 12 year old r50 with great service history drove very good for the price. Except the interior quality was not that good everything that didnt rattle or Cracked had propably fallen off. Still I would recommend anyone to buy one especially one with great service history.

@@rcautomotive5399 I don't know where you are from. I bought the car when I was 19 years old and had my temporary license for 2 weeks. I paid 300 euro insurance (Belgium)

@@rcautomotive5399 but insurance in belgium is very difficult for young drivers. As I got my permanent driver license the max hp for a new car is 75 kw or 102 hp so I did not have alot of choice

@@maxnewts Not. This engine is a joint venture between BMW Mini and Chrysler. You can see in the specs data sheet the bore and stroke and the compression ratio. It's the same....

A mechanic told me they also made a 2.0 liter version of that particular engine and it should have been possible to fit it in the mini. It is a great engine if you let it warm up good and don't trash it the engine should last a 250k to 300k km without many problems.

@@andersnielsen6044 that won't be the new 3 cylinders that are being build now. I own a opel corsa the car dealer said they won't make it past 200k km and that is if they maintain it like I do. Every 10k km my car goes to the official service center for maintenance. Opel or psa says every 20k km or every year but i found that a long time. I know some Ford ecoboost the 3 cylinder 1.0 run like 250k to 300k km atleast the ones build a few years go. For the ecoboost now it is a bit to early to say but I expect some good reliability.

Why you shift at 4000rpm? From 4000-6500rpm is the performance on peak. Then you need only 9 seconds to 100km/h.

It's little late for the answer. But the 2006/2010 ones, is having many reliability issues with the plastic tensors and turbo leaks on cooper S. The 2011/2013 ones, is using n14 engine, but is revised with better quality parts. I drive mini cooper 2013 with remap stage 1, and no issues at all. Everything still working really well. Do the oil service before due, and the car will be fine.
