I paid Toyota $1500 to replace sensors and wiring. Mice have been living on my 2004 Sienna engine during Covid - engine light has come on and gone off randomly over the last 2 years. And LIMP mode was triggered - so I am glad I fixed it. Van has 140 K kilometers, best car I ever owned, costs so little to maintain. Will keep it for another 10 years at least.

When I say 'costs so little to maintain' - well other than the mice nest, all service has been regular maintenance. Largest expenses were timing belt, front shocks, and brakes.

The problem you have with paying others is that while they are in there - a whole lot of others things can be maintained. Shops are not going to tell you these things - 1 you will not spend the extra dollars because they will inflate as they use a book guide for the quote which doesn't take into account how very little they need to do. Then the parts prices will be inflated. You can actually do this job in about 8 hours once you have done it you can cut that back by about 3 hours. I have changed my plugs three times now. So going in that far - take the cowling off - take the plenum with throttle body off and you are there - the rear passenger side bolt is the real pain.

You showed quite a bit except where those Knock sensors were mounted with their bolts. [The actual thing the Video was supposed to be about]. yes that left rear bolt is a real PIB .. at this point of disassembly - Change the Valve Cover Gaskets, the Spark Plugs ($40 - gaskets and plugs) , The thermostat ($10) and the plastic housing pipe ($20) - these things need to be done and are well worth doing .. do not put it off - think about how much work it is just to get it down this far - to work on! For $70 now - you will save literally HOURS later and probably a vehicle breakdown as well.

leave the injector in the lower intake and just flip it to the right and with a racheting wrench 14mm key its super easy to un-bolt the back intake support bracket

You may loosen the intake brackets from the rear of the engine block. That will make it easier to attach the brackets.

Flexible ratcheting end wrench. Those help a lot along with flexible ended ratchets. They make this crap so hard for the end user to work on. I’ve done this for 25 years and I get annoyed easily with this crap

I have a Sienna and I will agree with you, simple broken wires that rats chewed on costs me hundreds of dollars to replace because the idiot engineers who designed the van didn't think or didn't care about how easy it would be to repair such common issues. I will never buy that car again for sure!

You don’t to pull the inyectores out and also if you take the two star bolts you don’t need to remove the wipers!
