I replaced the compressor and receiver drier in the condenser. You don't have to remove the bumper or plastics under it, just the hood latch and top radiator support, then you can get to the bottom bolts.

I recently had someone else replace my radiator fans in my 2009 Toyota Camry because my car was overheating. The car came back and the AC was not blowing cold air like it was before. The car was still overheating so I replaced the radiator hoses and my water pump on my own. What do you think is causing my AC to not work. I tried relays to see if that was the issue.
@ecanixgarage11065 жыл бұрын
Desiree Vasquez first you need to put a gauge on your Ac system and see if it has the proper amount of Freon. You should have roughly 90lbs on the low side with the compressor off. If the Freon is full, then check to see if your getting power at the compressor through the clutch power wires. Is the compressor kicking on at all? Are both fans turning when the Ac is on?

FYI you can charge on the high side. Only with the system off though. It’s actually best to do it that way. You can usually get the whole charge in there and you can charge it by weight easier which is the only way you should ever charge a vehicle. Manufacturers only allow a small percentage over or under the charge should be by weight.

chalinoahuesoduro, I have a 2007 Camry as well, and this model has a very strange issue where if the ABS module fails, it makes a few components not work; the speedometer, a/c, and odometer. Just in case this is happening on your car.
@kushalkarki29815 жыл бұрын
Did you end up swapping the compressor or just the solenoid? I am having a similar issue with my 2009 Camry. My ac blows cold air for like 5 mins and slowly gets warm. Toyota dealer did the recharge and determined there was no leak. They said needs compressor replacement. I had my compressor replaced 2 years ago. They did not specify but sort of hinted that the solenoid is bad. I am thinking about just replacing the solenoid and see if that fixes the problem. Any suggestions?
@padams84855 жыл бұрын
Kushal Karki If your speedometer and or odometer are not working as well, your could be experiencing a common 2007-2009 Camry 2.4 issue, which is the ABS module failure. They are not cheap online, but I got one from LKQ for $20 and it only takes removing 4 female star (E-Socket) bolts out and disconnecting the electrical connection. This happens because the ABS module circuit and wheel speed information goes through the instrument panel as well or the data is not going to the ECU. Either way, it's a pretty simple switch out once you have the new ABS module. And you don't have to change the ABS pump, so no opening of brake fluid lines. Also, if this is not your issue, make sure your outside condenser is clean and your cabin air filter is clean.

Great video. So, I recently replaced the compressor as well as the suction line AND condenser on our 2007 Camry. The AC was working great for a few weeks, then it quit again. I assumed it was the only thing I had not replaced, the expansion valve. So, I replaced that and everything was golden again. After driving the car for 15-20 mins the next day, the AC quit again. I discharged the system and recharged it - it worked great, again for 5-10 mins, then quit. It doesn't seem to work again after that. ANY IDEAS? I'm at a total loss. I have replaced the pressure switch in the past too...but if that were bad, I wouldn't think I would get any cold air at all?
@ecanixgarage11064 жыл бұрын
Sean Hayes sounds like you have an leak somewhere... are you monitoring your pressure when the air stops blowing cold? You can buy a leak detection light fairly cheaply and check all the connections you had open.. usually you can see the green dye even without the detection light.. are you using a vacuum pump on system, putting a negative vacuum on system, closing gauges and letting it sit to check for leaks?
@shayes3254 жыл бұрын
@@ecanixgarage1106 Thanks a lot for the quick response! Yep, I did the negative vacuum and let it sit for a few hours after running the pump for an hour, and it held fine. I am going to check all my joints though and see what may be going on. I will be back to let you know! Thank you! Strangely, I did find oil under the car after working which I did not recognize as engine oil or transmission oil...found that strange.
@shayes3254 жыл бұрын
I am checking it now. With the car off and in a garage that is currently sitting at 70 degrees, the pressure is a little under 80psi. It was parked outside a little while ago, so the refrigerant may still be holding warmer temps in it, due to the higher ambient temps outside. I'll check for leaks still, but I was hoping my pressure would be low to help explain the issue?
@shayes3254 жыл бұрын
Ok, another update from me. Sorry to blow this thing up. I decided to run the car and watch my gauges for a while. I checked to make sure the compressor is getting voltage, which it is (meaning the CAR is telling the compressor to run). Good sign, since that means the pressure switch is working. What I am noticing is when it's running the pressure moves about 3-5 PSI (so the low side drops by 5 psi, and the high side goes up by like maybe 3. When I turn it off, it pretty much equalizes right away. To be honest, this sounds like a bad compressor to me. I wonder if my 1-year old compressor was just a dud from the get-go?
@ecanixgarage11064 жыл бұрын
Sean Hayes when the clutch engages on the compressor your low side should drop down to about 30-40 psi and your high should should prob Be around 250. If the pressure on low side runs too low it will cut off power to the compressor.. same thing on the high side if the pressure gets too high.. is the clutch engaging on its own or are you jumping it?
