A couple things you missed on this video: 1. Transmission Filter ($12 part) should have been changed at the same time as the fluid. 2. The new right angle Oil plug is excessively low and could be an easy break-off for some of the stupid speed bumps out there in the parking lots. 3. A magnetic oil drain plug should have been installed, just like in the transmission.... you'd be amazed at the grit it collects. 4. When you started the engine up.... my ears were deafened by the sound of your tappets(valves) ... yours needed adjustment badly. I have over 200K miles on my 2008 CRV EXL and it purrs like a kitten and hope to have it till the electric CRV comes available in a few years. A great teaching video for newbies, glad to see your daughter there interested in the car...

I have used Fumoto valves on 5 vehicles over 16 years of use and never had any issues

I've never known anyone who takes the oil filter off first before draining the oil. What's the advantage of that? Thanks for a great tutorial video!

You’re welcome. The order that you do things, whether you drain the oil or remove the oil filter first, does not matter.

Yes, you can drain the oil/remove the oil filter in any order. You will still get initial spillage from the filter either way.

I just drained a 2010 CRV transmission with 42K on it. I DID NOT EVEN PUT IT ON JACKS AS IT IS UNNECCESARY. It drained 3.5 QUARTS. The fluid is the original factory transmission fluid. How is that possible.? Honda lists 2.7 qts per drain.

Rear differential fluid change? Or is it an FWD model? Might want to also flush the brake fluid and change the power steering fluid.
