Thanks for sharing this, very helpful, simple & straightforward. My friend's 2011 has an intermittent starting problem, starts find most of the time, but occasionally won't do anything. So probably some corrosion in 1 of the connectors on the bottom of the power module. Thanks again. - take care

What if my car sometimes doesn't start but a week later starts back up? Could this be the culprit as well?

Look befind the fog light. That's where the relay box is. One of them collects all of the water and green monster.

I found the relay box, but do you know which replay it is?

I'm having a problem figuring out why my jeep won't start. it's a 2007 jeep Patriot. The vehicle was running and I turned the key to turn it off. The jeep continued to run for a minute,even after I turned the key to the off position, then vehicle quick running. I attempted changing the starter. Once I changed the starter and try to hook up the battery cables to the battery post the battery cables would give off a spark to a point that it partially melted the battery post. When I troubleshooted this problem the only thing I could find was that I had hooked the wires wrong to the starter. Both wires were hooked to the same connector. I rewired the starter correctly and the battery post allow me to hook up the battery terminals this time. When I try to turn the he over however the starter just clicks. Can you tell me what the problem is or possibly what to check

Isn't the jeep patriot starter easier to reach if you pull off the bumper? Also when my 2007 patriot failed the starter clicked which meant it was definitely due for a replacement and I did it before I got stranded

And the answer is nope it sure isn't it's a pain in the ass it's such a pain in the ass to get it back on it's not worth it it looks like it's simple but it's not you have patience and tolerance for your Jeep then go for it

I subscribed, I'm having an issue I've never seen. Engine won't crank, I've checked and tested what seems like everything. I'm wondering if you or anyone you know might have seen one of these patriots have issue like I have. Battery new, starter new, battery went first which in turn killed the starter solenoid. Just replaced the entire starter and bench tested it with battery, works great. Engine isn't seized, turns over by hand with normal force. Fuse is good, relay no corrosion, I put DMM to starter signal wire and it only gets 10-11v not 12.4v what the battery reads from posts. Odd thing is, the signal wire gets power as soon as the door opens without key in ignition. When ignition turned to start same voltage 10-11v. I've tested Evey wire from ignition switch to starter. Everything lights up just fine but not even a click to the starter. Edit: I've swapped relays also, no change.

I have that exact issue. 10.8 volts to signal wire on starter. Also did everything you did. Did you figure out the issue?
@SmoothBrain23 Жыл бұрын
@@CRZYFROMDAYONE sure did, the little fuse for the factory alarm was blown

@@CRZYFROMDAYONE kzbin.info/www/bejne/n3S9koWupt6EopY In this video I think it was fuse #4 My fuse popped but didn't look broke, it had a hair line crack. My suggestion is to visually inspect fuses closely, I used a digital multimeter and it showed voltage going across the fuse like normal but because of the hairline crack it wasn't a good enough connection to send voltage when the key was turned to the start position
