Was a pain in the ass and took up a whole afternoon but as long as you have tools and a youtube video like this one, anything can be DIYed. Thank you

I saw all 3 of your video's here on KZbin and they were a lifesaver. My mom recently bought an 06 Sedona from the original owner. The van was leaking oil from everywhere. Since I'm pretty handy around an engine bay I watched your videos and removed both valve covers and the intake manifold which was plastic on the 06. I also replaced all 6 spark plugs at the same time. The van runs so much better now. Also the van has 232,000 miles on it. So thank you for the helpful videos.

I also have an ‘06 Sedona and it recently started misfiring, shaking and losing power, check engine light blinking until it stayed on. I think it’s exhibiting symptoms same as your ‘06. Mine’s also leaking oil in the side and blackening the alternator directly below, fouling the air in the cabin when I turn on the A/C. I got 156K miles on it. Do you think the coils and spark plugs are the suspects? Valve covers also may be cracked or something. I’m the original owner. Thanks for any inputs you can share here. Short of saying, I really want to be sure to save time guessing.

Spastic Mechanic yes sir, and since it’s gonna be one tough job reaching those plugs, might as well cover for everything else related to the current problem before calling it a day. Thanks also for this video, I’ll have a go-to aid that I can get back to once I’m stumped. Wish you were in my town though haha peace!

Thanks this helped save a lot of time. FYI the left strap bolt is 14mm and right is 12mm. Right will need a universal and stubby rachet and small hands if you're too stubborn to remove the throttle body like me.

Thanks, my son's sorento has same motor but is mounted straight. He has P0301 code cylinder 1 misfire. I have to pull plenum off to access passenger side. Of course it couldn't be driver side. I thought i had to pull plenum, your video confirms it. Thanks!

Great video. Thanks so much for making it. I just did this to my 2008 Sedona after watching, and it went really well. You probably saved me hours of work and a ton of aggravation!

Are the instructions the same for a 2006 Kia Sedona, on the spark plugs ???

Looks like the throttle body is overdue for a cleaning. I have an 08 model van and mine looked like yours does. Started throwing engine codes. I thought I needed a new TB sensor. Turns out all I had to do was clean the TB and MAS (air flow sensor). Problem solved. Good vid by the way. Going to tackle this job tomorrow. I bought our 08 Hyundai Entourage new. The plugs have 158,000 on them. To be honest, the van runs strong. Looking forward to what shape the plugs are in.

Great video! I just changed the plugs today for the second time. Its an 06 and I bought it new. Changed them once at 60k and today at 124k. The first time I used NGK Platinum plugs. When I took them out they were worn but not bad at all. This time I used NGK Iridiums. To be honest I cant remember what originally came in the car.

supra865 they're irridiums theyre good for 120 000 miles plus

hope you remember me. we did the valve cover gaskets on our 2007 sedona and was a complete success. Wasn't as hard as I first thought. just time consuming and alot of bolts to remove.
@alvindavis41727 жыл бұрын
yes. we did both valve cover gaskets and decided to replace both the plugs as well as coil packs

hello, anyone know what that hose @06:31 connects to? when i removed the intake manifold i saw that the previous owner had replaced it with another hose and the line that connects to the intake manifold is a plastic hose that is broken off. That piece is held on by 1 10mm and cant figure out what its called. Guess ill just take it to the local parts store and find out.

Or I my case, before pulling the plenum, blow out all the nuts gathered by the tree rats to prevent them from falling into the cylinders upon intake removal😂

now I'm looking for a knock coming from the front end of the suspension. I've already replaced both lower control arms. does alot of knocking while driving. keep thinking it could be either struts or even wheel hub assemblies. started hearing it first from drivers side and now coming from passenger side as well. any ideas?
@alvindavis41727 жыл бұрын
yes ball joints replaced as well. it only knocks when driving. even while driving straight. ever bump in the road makes it knocks. struts seem fine. still pretty stiff. that's why I replace control arms to see if that was it but still knocking

i have a 09 and looks pretty much like yours. I have difficulty getting to the 12m bolt on the left on the back. looks like the a wire or connector is on the way. What's your trick to get it out?
@FelixV6 жыл бұрын
did you unplug the electrical before you remove the bolt?

While your there you should inspect the timing valve control solenoid if you have code p00018

Thanks for the good video. I watched both the parts as well as your transmission fluid change video and found them very detailed and useful. In this video the only part i was not able to understand was how did you reach out to back of plenium and removed whatever was holding it in place, what tools you used for that (since that seems like most difficult part). Secondly how do you maintain such good lightning and camera focus? video quality is fantastic and visibility of each part is very clear.

You point to a vague area and say "back there..." Several bolts back there.
@themarginalmechanic59283 жыл бұрын
Right now you know they were bolts in the bracket on the back of the plenum that you have to address. Use your hands you'll be able to find them now you know what to look for.
