Very simple and clever way to find the cause if the issue. Actuator internal leaks is super common on these cars. You would think the dealer would know what to look for right away. Amazing Video! This needs to be pinned to the lexus forums.

I have same exact issue on my 2011 ls460 AWD. I never heard that sound prior to replacing the whole brake actuator system last month at Lexus dealer cost me almost $3600 and now with new actuator on it makes this pumping sound everytime I hit the Brake pedal and it’s getting annoying. I went back to dealer 3 times and was told “it’s normal” why wasn’t that sound there the past 6 years I owned the car? I bought it with 22k miles on it and now I have 57k miles with a new actuator that makes a annoying pumping sound everytime I hit brake pedal? Can you help me figure this out or what’s causing it? Because I honestly think the dealer don’t know what they’re talking about! There’s no way they will convince me that it’s normal as if they know my car better than I do.

I have 2006 Toyota Highlander hybrid. I have The following codes: C1241, C1256, and C1391. All pointing to ABS accumulator. These are accompanied by VSC, ABS, etc error lights. Whenever I clear codes, they reappear not long later after driving. Most important problem is in terms of driving: For the first 5 miles or about 10 minutes of driving on highway, the car starts shaking in front and shakes even more when I brake at higher speeds as if uneven rotors. I am not thinking of rotors because the when I just start, there is no shaking even at 75 mph; but only comes on after about 5 - 10 miles. Clicking noise from brake accumulator even when key is out.

Thanks for another very informative video as usual. I got an Autel AL539B only on your recommendation. I love it so far! Maybe they should give you some profit sharing. Question: How did you know to test on AC rather than DC? Does it depend on the sensor or do you always test sensors on AC?
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos 5 жыл бұрын
THANKS, I was curious one day, then realized that AC voltage was reading as if it was DC voltage, and it could alternate back to AC voltage on its own, which was really cool. When you test on the DC scale, it will not show a graph, just numbers, so I will always graph on the AC scale. As far as profit sharing, Autel figures, hey, he is advertising a product of ours for free, so why should stir the pot. just goes to show who's CHEAP, LOL!

I have a 2007 ls460L and it is telling me to have the dealer check VSC. The check engine and traction control lights are on. I don't have an abs light on. I replaced the gas cap with a new one, and drove over 50 miles but lights are still on. I don't hear any weird noises from the pump. I do believe I have bad rotors. I have not tried resetting the light because I figured if it was the gas cap the light would go out anyway. I can't see the battery being the problem, but I will have it checked tomorrow. I had to use fix-a-flat on the left rear. I got the tire patched, but do you think fix-a-flat messed up the sensor? It seems like after I got the flat fixed the problem begun? The fix-a-flat is supposed to be "sensor safe"?

Would like any kind of feedback or answers to my problem.

Hey, my Lexus make a loud squealing sound when pressing on the brakes, but only if it was sitting for a long period of time. Like over night, as it should. It's just the first 2 to 3 initial stops, and then after that, no more squealing, until it's been sitting for hours again. Took it to my mechanic and he couldn't find anything wrong with the brakes. He said they were good, and he didn't know why it did it, but the breaks are good, and there are no lights on, on the dash. What can be the problem?
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos
@OnlineAutoRepairVideos 4 жыл бұрын
It could be the quality of the brake pads, or they may need brake lubricant so they slide better. Also, MAKE SURE the brakes that are up there has brake silencer shims on the back of each pad. Hope this helps.
