This is what the NFL is all about. a late season matchup between two good teams that needed to win.

It's such a short season, 17 games, that every game is life and death, but Week 12 onwards is def do or die. Often the Great postseason teams get their shit together in Nov and Dec. BUT: Every SB winner besides 2003 Patriots lost an upset in Dec. They HAVE to be humbled to cover up weaknesses in their schemes. Check every SB winner, you'll find it. For the 2022 Chiefs week 13 lost to the Bengals; a very important humiliation, since they had to beat them in the AFC championship.

The best part is the Weather starts to suck in Nov-Dec and I don't feel as bad being on couches with friends Sundays 1pm-730PM. Because its kinda sad looking outside in Sept what a nice day, too bad Im missing it. I tend to workout and spend a few hours outside Sunday Mornings 8am-noonish. So it feels better to sit on my ass and eat all day; watching my bets unfold on Redzone. Cant wait.

Its SO crazy the best returner in history sucked as a WR. It SEEMS easier to catch a pass then a punt, but it aint. A returner is facing the kick and tracks it without coverage. A WR has to trick DBs into not knowing where they're cutting, and if its a go route, to track the ball while running away from it, HARD. Lots of Speed demons never develop, lotta WR draft busts.

27:51 Eli's not playing well, but Rex Grossman, lmao. At 3rd and 13 shadow of the goal posts, as his coach I would NOT be calling a pass play for Grossman; this is when you call a draw or a screen, the old "Lets just give up and punt, our QB is more likely to score points for the other team then get a first down". Gilbride deserves credit for turning the 4WR Run and Shoot into a FB and TE smashmouth hybrid. Option routes, seam reads, they're here just with 2WR.

37:55 Nice protection scheme Bears. RB pick up the blitzing CB, tackle and TE will handle blitzing LB. Great job handling the blitz, lets just leave HOF Def End 92 Strahan unblocked! Flushed Grossman and its not a sack yet until the left tackle just watches #91 Justin Tuck cut to the right and sack his QB. Total team effort by the D.
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing3 жыл бұрын
49:14 another nice protection scheme. Its a THREE man rush, as Justin Tuck #91 drops in shallow zone. 3 man rush, 6 in protection, but Lets use a RB to block #72 Osi? Grossman should have thrown the Y Stick to the TE maybe he breaks a tackle. Grossman cannot read a defense, he looks at targets not defenders he looks off nobody all game.

1:56:12 Justin Tuck play of the game, at 3Tech D Tackle. They blitzed 2 LB and dropped D end to cover the FB, but Tuck got there. This game is crazy, 14 seasons later as a Giants fan its a nail biter rewatch. Derrick Ward fumbles twice, Eli throws 2 INTs, one of them in scoring position wiping out even a FG. The Giants D has 55 snaps by the 3rd quarter, its only a goal line holding penalty that forces a FG that kept NYG in the game 16-7.

29:31 Derrick Ward is 3rd string ; hell of a run on a pin and pull. Remember when we thought losing Tiki was a massive blow in 2007? 2007 was a committee with Rueben Droughns main back lost early, RB room still kept chugging all year. Running Backs are overvalued, the blocking is everything, you can find great talent lower rounds like 7th round pick Derrick Ward, 6th round pick 2007 rookie Ahmad Bradshaw. Tiki wasn't no first rounder either. The OFFENSIVE LINE is where ALL your Run game spending should go. Draft a running back every season at the lower rounds, rotate them every few downs so they're always fired up at 110% to prove something, and let them depart in free agency with a gift basket and well wishes.

@@SoulsKing23 It's a response to Giant fan Copium I heard for 3 years: "Saquan Barkley was a great pick! You'll see! When he's healthy!" - Half the reason u draft 3rd or 4th round RB every year is the injury rate. 2nd overall pick? A pick worth 2-3 years of first round picks in a trade? Its HARD to lose enough to get 2nd overall. It means your roster is awful. Trenches, QB, D, everything. So u draft... A Running Back?! The cheapest position to sign in free agency??!

It will take all of 2022 to clear out the awful cap situation, the rebuild cant start for real until 2023. Hopefully 2022 is the start of a forward thinking modern regime, hiring a GM and HC from the Bills. Bills are thoroughly modern. Cutting edge offense, team building, cap mgmt. Now they need LUCK; Reese had none after 2011. High Draft picks can't blow their knees out and retire before 4 year rookie deal expires. Star D Linemen can't have Firework accidents.

They really rip into Eli ... but a couple of months later, SB MVP
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing3 жыл бұрын
Honestly; Eli sucked in 2007 regular season. 6.3 Yards per attempt, thats lower then Flacco's worst seasons. That's Brock Osweiler territory. Ive been watching NYG since 1990; but facts is facts. What happened in week 17 to SB 42 is just, crazy, but to ignore what he did in the preceeding 48 starts is just stupid fanboy stuff beneath my dignity.
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing3 жыл бұрын
Eli's career was the most frustrating shit ever. 2011 Entire season he carried a team with no run game and only okay defense. 2007 week 17- SB is just, mindboggling. But game in game out he drove you crazy. 11:54 on the right side, there's TWO open options, the TE is open for a great first down, when he cuts Eli's finished his drop....and Eli just scrambles, they punt
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing3 жыл бұрын
I analyze every play, and Eli drove me insane on the rewinds, STILL does. The OL gave you time, the designs of Gilbride run and shoot hybrid defeats the coverage on one side or the other.

when Shockey got hurt all those "miscommunication" interceptions stopped.
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing2 жыл бұрын
Gilbride's Offense is FULL of Option Routes; 2007 was the first year, and Shockey was acting unteachable. Supposed to cut away from defender leverage, or stop if he's over you, or keep going if he's underneath.
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing2 жыл бұрын
In the modern game, you can't be a top 10 offense without Option routes. 2011 NYG Gilbride the postseason is ALL Run and Shoot options. Victor Cruz and Nicks were incredible, Im rewatching 2011 Season now. But Now, 10 years later, the only offenses without them are starting backups and rookie QBs. Option routes are rare in NCAA. Option routes are a reason for offensive explosion; Modern NFL offense even some of the run game is all about making defenders choose and than making sure they guessed wrong.
@NYG52 жыл бұрын
@@WalterWhiteFootballSharing that's what pissed me off when KG got thrown under the bus in 2013. The offense ran great when they had receivers with even just a little bit of talent and with good heads for the game, 2007-2011 were very good offenses that usually only showed issue when the oline deteriorated. In 2012 the oline issue started getting critical, and Reese started drafting and signing really bad WRs that couldn't read the defense. Cruz got hurt, Steve Smith got hurt, Nicks got hurt, Hixon got hurt, and then guys like Jernigan and Randle were no shows and Ramses Barden was the softest big guy I ever saw. Plus, the defense was usually horrendous throughout most of 2009-present day. Giving up score in the last 2 minutes of either half has been a Giants specialty.

This was prolly the most pivotal game of the reg season (aside from the Patriots wk 17 game) cuz if they lost this, they lose being in the driver seat of the WC & *who knows* what happens from there, but thankfully good ol' Eli leads a comeback & the rest is literally history......

11:54 2 open guys. 24:29 Wide open miss. Eli wasn't great, he was flat out bad, in comparison to his peers, in 2007 Reg season. 6.3 YPA is worse then Flacco, worse then any season Mark Sanchez put together. 7.2 YPA is the floor to be decent, and Eli finally went Elite in 2011 at 8.4 YPA; which is excellent.

Devin Hester was a monster against the vikings on offense (IIRC especially with griese at QB) but against everyone else? Not so much. Within 1yr of this time we would be waist deep.in the "orfense" with good ol kyle orton always trying to throw to 10ft tall receivers

This game is why the argument against Joe Buck and Troy Aikman has grounds to it. Wow. every single time the Giants played and they covered the game they would screw up names and nearly every time somebody on the Giants defense made a good tackle. Aikman is just babbling on and on about nothing.

Time stamp the play! Its crazy that playing WR is much harder then being a returner, fans don't understand how hard it is to run routes in ways that don't tell professional DBs in zone or man where you're going. They think backyard ball is the same. "Kids game" NO ITS NOT!! Football was created by grown men in their 20s in Rutgers and Princeton 1800s that killed scores of them until Pres Teddy R forced them to make it less fatal to save his fave sport 1900s.
