As a Chiefs fan, the story of the 2011 Giants is still hard to believe. First 9-7 team to win the Super Bowl, against the Tom Brady and the juggernaut Patriots. Defeated the 15-1 Packers in blowout fashion, then the 13-3 49ers in the NFCCG. What a season for this team. They have all my respect.

@WalterWhiteFootballSharing6 ай бұрын
The 2011 Giants are just a good modern pass oriented team. 'Tough running' is not them, They were 32nd at yards per carry, 3.5 ugh, 1427 total yards, completely sucked at running. The 2008 Steelers being the first notable SB winner that couldn't run block. You're thinking of 07-09. 2011 had a bad OL, Eli just got the ball out fast, but a run play was giving up a down. www.pro-football-reference.com/years/2011/ < - both YPA and total rushing, dead last. The actual 2011 games are up on KZbin and Dailymotion, its all Eli and pass rush.
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing6 ай бұрын
Eli in 2011 is 8.4 Yards Per Attempt, that's STELLAR efficiency. Only 3rd because 15-1 Packers bonkers 9.3 and Patriots 8.6 was higher. 8.4 YPA is rarified air you don't live in, you just visit once in a while, Aaron Rodgers career is 7.7 YPA. 2011 Pats is one of those years with average defense where Brady has to ball out, those seasons always ended in failure. But 2011 esp, they didn't beat a single team better then 8-8, until the AFC championship v Ravens. Giants should have been FAVORITES in SB, having beaten Patriots in Week 9 in Foxboro using backups, when the Pats were desperate for revenge over 18-1. Battle tested vs best teams reg season and postseason vs Patriots loaded with wins vs avg at best. The Division round vs 8-8 Denver Tebows.

@WalterWhiteFootballSharing4 жыл бұрын
Eh...Not with Gettlemen in Charge. "Danny Dimes" best season at Duke is a 6.8 Yards Per Attempt. He said he drafted him 'after seeing one series' at the senior bowl. Even if he's stupid lucky with Jones, Gettlemen has no concept of draft and positional value. Pass Offense and Pass Defense is high first round. NOT slower run defenders; and NOT RUNNING BACKS. The cheapest position to sign in Free agency; are the players Gettlemen values most.
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing4 жыл бұрын
This is old news to everyone paying close attention. The 2011 Giants had the worst rushing offense of that year. The Best Running backs at their absolute best; 2012 Adrian Peterson; can't win a playoff game. I love watching him and have his best 2012 games on my playlist. Derrick Henry wasn't worth his 1st round pick; until Tannehil's absurd 8+ Yard Per attempt 2019. Raheem Mostert, Phillip Lindsay; GREAT players can be had without even a draft pick. Sony Michel is slight above average and a waste of Pats 1st round pick. Nick Chubb is better in every way drafted lower. I could go on forever; but 2nd overall if not a QB is a trade down; that pick got the Rams 3 first round picks in 2012.
@YTCProductions4 жыл бұрын
Walter White what are we the Bengals lmao we’re not cheap in FA to get the best FA the reason they haven’t been successful is they’re consistently cheap and draft worse than us At least under Jerry Resse I like what Gettlemen has done Danny Dimes will be the best QB in the 2020 Draft ahead of Kyler Murray Why because he plays for an organization with a track record for success In franchise history unlike others that have yet to establish theirs Secondly it takes years to refix a team that has been a mess under the Reese Era outside of the SB and 2016 season Bad Drafting and Bad long term FAs have drained its team for the mid 2010s Gettlemen has done a great job in terms of detoxification of this franchise from Reese poison with Danny Dimes A possible Golden Jacket Saquon Barkley A late 5th rd stud in Darius Slayton Who could be a No 1 WR who reminds me allot of Hakeem Nicks And we have a young but promising defense We’re just a couple pieces away from Competing for a SB Pass Rush and LB depth and we’re set Our offense will be fine now that we revamped the line this draft A SB team isn’t built over night it takes years

@WalterWhiteFootballSharing4 ай бұрын
Everyone forgets how great Nicks really was in 2011, focusing only on Victor Cruz. Nicks was tall, fast, great route runner, and demanded safety help. This left nickelbacks 1 on 1 with Cruz, and since there's only so many DBs LBs had to cover Pascoe, Ballard, Hynocerous. Cruz also feasted because Nickelbacks back then were backup level. Today Slot corners arent called Nickelbacks,its recognized as difficult and a premium position, 2 way go unlike edge corners with a sideline. Because they often motion or put WR1s in the slot if your slot corner isn't elite, easy first downs.

He was fantastic from start to finish, setting or tying multiple records in the process. He was, clearly the best QB for the entire season. The 2011 season, his 2007 SB run, and incredible ironman streak will eventually get him into Canton. Critics - don't bother with a reply - I'll ignore it.

Hes not a HOFer. The number of bad games and bad seasons, its the majority of his career. Im a Giants fan; and I suffered every game from 2004 until it became unwatchable in 2015. He was a below avg QB for most games. That's facts. Take the Superbowl memories and cherish without having to stuff everyone we like in the Hall. Go look at Profootball reference. Its not pretty.
@nygm9842 жыл бұрын
@@WalterWhiteFootballSharing Just so you are aware, I have been running a fantasy football league for over 20 years and I've been watching football for 40 years. So, I am well aware of Eli's stats b/c I do use Pro Football Reference (and many other fantasy sites). If you call it "suffering" during the time period you mentioned, you may want to check in with Jets or Browns fans (BTW for the record the NYGs made the playoffs 6 times and were in the PO hunt at least 3 other seasons - but I guess you knew that already). Now, as far as the "facts" are concerned, the main reason you were "suffering" was b/c Reese and Gettleman were terrible GMs that did a terrible job at drafting. Also, over the final 9 years of Eli's career (2011 to 19) here are the average ranks of the units that played behind him- Def - 21st, O-line 22nd, and rushing 24th (they produced only 7 All-Pros during Eli's entire career but I guess you knew that as well). So, Eli was not the reason for their failures. Now, as far as Eli being "a below avg QB for most games" - well I don't know of any QBs that were "below average" that made 4 Pro Bowls and were a Top 10 QB 2 other years (while finishing just outside of the Top 10 3 times). So, I guess you're only looking at his efficiency stats and not counting volume (that would be like counting only avg, OBP, and Ks in baseball and not counting HRs, RBIs or hits). Finally, I am not stuffing everybody I like into the HOF. If I was I would include Bavaro, Simms, McConkey, Cruz, JPP and others. This is my opinion and I am entitled to it, as are you to yours (this is your channel).

This is considered to be the worst statistical team to ever win a Super Bowl. But when you win a Super Bowl, stats really don’t matter in the end.
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing Жыл бұрын
You're getting confused with 2007 Giants. www.pro-football-reference.com/teams/nyg/2007.htm . Stats can only tell you what HAPPENED already. Usually that's very very predictive. But occasionally you get teams that played poor to avg and improve. In 2007 Eli was AWFUL reg season, look at his stats, 6.3 Yards Per Attempt is Blaine Gabbert, Jets Flacco territory. SUDDENLY Week 17 he exploded vs the 15-0 Patriots, check out that game its a thriller, lost 38-35 as Brady needed a comeback. kzbin.info/www/bejne/g3uTZZSElKlkZ7s
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing Жыл бұрын
The Defense ALSO got its shit together late, the Playoff games vs 1 Seed Dallas and 2 Seed Greenbay were great games due to the D Line especially keeping those prolific offenses in check. But Eli was on fire, he suddenly started making the right reads of Defensive coverages. (Thats usually why QBs bust, they never learn to read D in 2.5 seconds and get that ball out in rhythm). Until Week 17 of 07 Eli showed NO signs he was going to figure it out, and this was year FOUR. In 2011 Eli was incredible, they had no run Game 32nd fewest yards, It was shotgun spread 3WR Cruz in the slot. Other then the 07 Postseason and the entire 2011 season, Eli wasn't really a top 10 QB in any of his seasons.

Kind of down played the absolute beating eli took in the nfc championship game
@WalterWhiteFootballSharing2 жыл бұрын
That 2011 NFC Champ game is the worst, ugliest big win NYG ever got. 6 sacks on Eli. The 2011 Niners were so much better at OLine and one of the best Front 7's of the decade. It took 2 special teams fumbles giving the ball to NYG in scoring range to gain the lead. The Giants OL was BAD in 2011. Its a hard to watch game seeing down to down Giants looking so bad when they had the ball. BUT: The Giants D kept giving them the ball back; 10 punts to 12 punts.

2007!!! 20011!!! Best Giants teams ever!!
@andrewryan65314 жыл бұрын
Mike Jones agreed but the teams/squads from 1986, 1990 and 2000 were also great teams there as well there bro. The 1986 squad along with the 1990 squad there as well were both Super Bowl championship title game winners, and the 2000 squad was the only one to have lost in a Super Bowl championship title game in a terrible 34-7 romping against the Baltimore Ravens there bro. :P :P
@dantesinfernopurgatory78264 жыл бұрын
Each Giant Super Bowl win was the best in several ways: 1986 was their most dominant year a 14-2 while absolutely STEAMROLLING their opposition in the playoffs: Divisional Round 49-3 over San Francisco, NFC Championship 17-0 over Washington and Super Bowl XXI - 39-20 over Denver. 1990 was their best year defensively as they only allowed 221 points during the regular season, then held Chicago to 3 points, San Francisco to 13 points, and the league's most prolific offense - Buffalo to 19 points. 2007 was their best road warrior year as they went 10-1 on the road, and their biggest underdog year by turning the 18-0 Patriots to the 18-1 Super Bowl runner up. 2011 was their best year for overcoming adversity and injuries to FINISH! Held Atlanta to 2 points, Green Bay to 20 points, and San Francisco / New England to 17 points each. 2007/2011 Super Bowl - Defensively held New England to an average of 15.5 points/game while averaging 19 points/game offensively. 1986 was my favorite year since it was their first championship in 30 years, and they were dominant that season. But all four Super Bowls will hold a special place in my memory as I was able to see those four championships with my father before he passed away.

dantes inferno purgatory I can most definitely agree with that for sure indeed without any doubt or questions at all there bro. The 2000 season finale was extremely disappointing and sucky for sure indeed there. That 34-7 loss to the Ravens in Super Bowl 35 still at times aches and pains my absolute guts here and there though, but at least I have seen two much better ones since then and there though bro. Strahan and Toomer were the only ones left from the original 2000 squad there as well. It most definitely is a very satisfactory feeling indeed to know that they eventually did get their 💍 rings there and all, but unfortunately the majority of those guys from the 2000 squad never did win the big one. Very few if any of them at all, and it was a totally different coach in that being Tom Coughlin along with all the staff and a whole bunch more in charge there as well bro.
@andrewryan65314 жыл бұрын
We have been a combination of happiness and disappointment all in one, but hopefully we will move in the right direction sooner rather than later and hopefully could become the winningest franchise in terms of Super Bowls alone as well there brotha man!!

@@andrewryan6531 Since you mentioned Coughlin, you just reminded me of something: 1990 - Giants best Super Bowl Coaching Staff: Bill Parcells - Head Coach Bill Belichick - Defensive Coordinator Tom Coughlin - Wide Receivers Coach Romeo Crennel - Defensive Line Coach Al Groh - Linebacker's coach Charlie Weis - Special teams Coordinator Ron Erhardt - Offensive Coordinator Tight Ends Coach - Mike Pope Offensive Line - Fred Hoaglin

For the cameraperson that zoomed in on Mario Manningham's mother and then zoomed out to Eli before that big catch, well played. How the heck did they know?

I’m a Steelers fan but man, huge fan of those giants teams that were underdogs. If Burress and Pierce never got into those off the field issues, the giants would’ve been in contention for consecutive years.
