Hey I have a question about your D16 build, I want to also use 12mm head bolts for my D16 build but I cannot find the 2.6 Mitsubishi ARP head bolts you used, can you direct me to how and where you got them? And did you have to drill and tap the engine block and head to make them fit?

Quick question man! My friends ac compressor clutch is going bad and locking up, but it unit seems to be spinning freely when the whole hvac system is off. You think she could get by a few more months if i disconnected the plug for her?

What should be your high and low pressure reading?

Depends on temperature, and humidity. If I need to guess, I usually put enough in to keep it from cycling, and maybe add a little more. Maybe somewhere around 35/200 on that thing. Just guessing though.

Low resistance coil, or short to ground, after the plug.

I just did a 2012 v6 couple weeks ago. Took some plastic off, and it was right there. Maybe you have a 2013?

@@RustBeltAuto ours is 2012 sport. This is what I had to do. Disconnect the low side hose at the junction by the charge port (there wasn’t any slack in the hoses to drop the compressor) Remove the oil filter It was a bear to say the least. Weird how some autos are slightly different. Either way appreciate the video.

is pag oil suposed to b yelow in color? i jus got sum n its clear no color from ebay pag46

It should be clear, or have green dye oil in it. The container should be sealed. Pag is hygroscopic. If it is yellow, it probably soaked up moisture from the air, and is no good.

I don't know how to vacuum it or if it is necessary to do it, there are two doubts that I have #1 is it necessary to vacuum it (I don't have anything to do it with) #2 how can I add the pounds that are in the manual (can I do it with a compressor to inflate the tire?)

You generally get higher high side pressures. There are other inconsistencies that are created, by not using vacuum, depending on humidity, temperature, and elevation. It is most noticeable on systems that require a lot of refrigerant, like houses.

Say, if you have an AC system that is leaking everywhere to the point that there is no charge left in it at all, do you have to do anything special before replacing it all (like a flush), or can you just slap all the new components on and have a pro deal with the charging bits? Shop quoted me $1700 to fix my AC I'm not paying that **chicken squawk**

You are supposed to replace the accumulator/receiver dryer. Depending on what happened, it is a good idea to replace the fixed orifice tube, maybe blow out the lines if the internals of the compressor got destroyed. Sometimes replace the TXV, if it has one, depending on system pressures. So it depends.

If you drive a 2008 escape and u would like way more gas milage ....up plug the ac compresser or remove the red fuse under the cover on the left side....why..I.wii tell you why..on my ford escape as soon as I.put on the defrost the compresser comes on and you get way less millage .if you put on the heat on the right side of the controll panel the compressor won't come on..I know there desighned like this but it's a dum desighn as long as the compresser is on it gets worse fuel millage unplug the compresser and leave it unplugged until its gets hot out yourr fuel milage will.come up and you will save your compresser

My 09' Escape AC Compressor locked up & it's in the shop going thru Carshield Repair. The Compressor locked up & polluted the system. Carshield wants pics of everything & it's a joke. Almost a month now & they are finally shipping out their (Carshields) Compressor. 12 month warranty, over a Lifetime warranty Compressor that cost $100 more! I can't get my evap coil & whatever else is located under the dash replaced because they want pics but they won't guarantee they'll pay for the tear down. So as of now, the shop is replacing the Compressor, the dryer, the switches & Carshield only pays $7 for Freon which is $30 a lb & I need 2lbs! It's a nightmare! I'm cancelling my coverage soon as this is repaired. The car is showroom condition

I would blow everything out, replace dryer, txv, and burn up 5 ebay compressors, before going through all that. Wrong is right.
