Clean both + and - battery cable brackets AND battery +and - terminals. *sandpaper fingernail file* Then make sure the brackects are tight and secure to the + an - terminal. *they shouldnt move* Not broken or loose. Then turn your key. That is step 1. I only got to step 1. And my no start problem was fixed. my cars symptoms were- everything all lights up normal. turn key and no juice to starter. radio clock resets, lights on dash zap off brefly, maybe a tick click noise, no start... and it repeats as many times as i turned the key. i used sand paper, a fingernail file as well as other tools. rachet socket set, flathead screw driver. to complete the above step 1. I had a similar problem. The timing chain slipped and wouldn't start. I changed the timing chain and everything else that has to do with timing. When I got it back together it still wouldn't start. Come to find out the chain was misaligned before I bought the car and was flashed when the timing chain was not set right. When I changed the chain and guides everything lined up perfect but it would run for about 5 mins then go into limp mode. It kept reading code p0016 cam/crank misalignment but it was aligned. I triple checked with a scope to see crank alignment and it lined up perfectly. I had to bring it to a shop that specializes in tuning. If you live in Grand Rapids MI I would recommend Bobs garage off division they are great people and good prices. When it was put on a computer it read that cam and crank are in sync but still throwing the code p0016. So they flashed/ relearned the PCM and it is running great now. Hope this helps

Question. I have a 2013 Dodge Avenger. I turn the key once nothing. Not the slightest sound. Turn it again. Same thing. Turn it 3rd time cranks strongly. Drives fine lights are bright etc. taken it to three different mechanic nothing. First one said the starter second one said electrical 3rd one said battery replaced it same thing. No engine light nothing. Do you have any suggestions?

most likely all he had to do was go to that connection plugin block and tighten the connection up instead of chopping wires apart .

other issues is Battery or the Fuel pump can go out or you have water in your fuel tank

I have a Different problem. when cold, cars starts fine, but after about 20 minutes to half an hour, it just kind of losses power and when i go to start it back up it just cranks but wont start.

I went to AutoZone to get the starter relay.... their computer shows a different part as the starter relay. The part is actually an a/c relay which performs multiple duties. if you go to AutoZone to get this part... ask for Part #20367. $19.99 plus tax

Mine wouldn't start had a lightning bolt on the Dash turns out all it was was a 15 amp fuse going to the coil packs

your is in lock down mode cause your coolant level is to low and check your oil level as well bring those levels backup and then try starting it
