I spent $118 for the dealer to do this..never again, been following all your videos along with track848..not paying $118/hr and waiting 3 weeks for anything on my bike to be serviced.

Another spot on video. Will help me a ton. Sevice manual talks about aligning chain, but watching this makes me think it is very similar to other bikes. Thanks!

thank you this was very helpful. Unfortunately mine has a black plastic guard rail underneath the swingarm, it's practically impossible to accurately measure (it's dimensions gradually reduce). But the ruler without a margin idea definitely helps
@brotheus63106 жыл бұрын
lonewolf36s is it the factory chain guide mine has one too? Remember the measurement is from the aluminum swingarm to the center of the chain pin. Not off the guide.
@lonewolf36s6 жыл бұрын
definitely yea it's from factory. Looking again yours does indeed have it too. Been measuring from the metal itself definitely. I believe I have it right finally, i hope haha :)

Hey thanks for the video. Off topic question, did you upgrade your starter wires to copper? How does your 1098 start so fast? I know these bikes always sluggish to start. I ordered my HICAP wiring kit from Motolectic just waiting for it to come in.
@brotheus6310 Жыл бұрын
I have not touched anything regarding the starting system other than a new battery. The new battery was whatever was available at the time. That start up in the video may have been a warm start I can't recall.

@@brotheus6310 yeah after i posted my comment, i read your other comment you had the bike running previously. Anyways I’m new to 1098, what would you suggest for maintenance and upgrades?

Nathan Santana how did you get your bike to fire up that quick mine takes a few turn overs to finally fire up
@brotheus63107 жыл бұрын
I had the bike running maybe 45 minutes before I recorded that shot. When its cold and sits for a few days I give it a tiny bit of throttle and it fires up first try. Don't be afraid to give a little throttle when starting it. Also, my timing belts and battery are new. A new battery makes a huge difference and my battery is always on the battery tender.

Could not stop wandering what the liquid is that is dripping?
@brotheus63106 жыл бұрын
tuberrobby I believe it was water trapped within the wheel hub
@t.h15726 жыл бұрын
yes it is.. if you remove it completely you will find alot of dust built up behind there and it traps water inside aswell. there is a video here where one ducati owner removed the ecsentric hub and it was alot of crap inside xD

YOU SHOLD DO THIS WITH SOMEBODY ON THE BIKE !
@brotheus63106 жыл бұрын
No do not adjust your chain with someone on your bike you will under tighten it! Only time you do that is on a dirt bike when adjusting sag.

END IF YOU HIT ONE BUMB WILE YOU RIDE THE BIKE? YOUR CHAIN WILL BE BRAKE ! THINK ABOUT THAT
@brotheus63106 жыл бұрын
Simona Ardelean no man don't deceive people on this page with the wrong information. Ducati does not mention sitting on the bike during adjustment. Did you right the service manual? I didn't think so
@brotheus63106 жыл бұрын
Simona Ardelean if you set your suspension correctly and adjust the chain according to the service manual nothing will happen when you hit a bump other than hitting the bump.
