Thanks man and yes I'm doing pretty good here business wise. I think when you are just honest with people and take time to show what you have done...that keeps them coming back.

Thanks man, I just literally bought one of these yesterday cash. It shakes a little and I was just doing a little homework to see what are some of the usual issues with this car on YT. You pointed me on the right direction. Good video👌🏽

Old video but I bought my Grandma's 2009 Ford Escape 2.5ltr. w/ 80k miles for my Wife & it has the same issue, even when it was bought brand-new in 09'. It ran great without the AC on, but with that AC on & in gear at a light it has a rough Idle or very low idle. It runs & drives fine. I had to change the valve cover gasket because all of my plug wells were full of oil, got all that cleaned, replaced the gaskets, (easy) put new Mobile 1 plugs, coils & boots on her & no change. Then I pulled the Throttle Body (fairly clean) went ahead & cleaned that & the Mass Airflow Sensor, did the whole reset & relearn procedure & now it runs really damn smooth without that AC on but I was later told by a Ford Mechanic & the 2.5ltr are such small Engines, that AC basically just bogs em down & you'll get that little rough idle feel with it in gear & at a red light or something.

I'm facing this same exact issue. I already replaced my valve cover gasket when I did plugs. I cleaned the throttle body and it smoothed out a bit, but now I'm going to run some intake valve cleaner and see if it's just carbon build up. If you ended up doing anything else, could you let us know?

Same issue here. I had a ton of oil in the middle wells. I changed the gasket and spark plugs. I still have a rough idle that is pulsating 12 sec high idle then 7 sec low idle (approximately). When it has a high idle there is less vibration overall. Only notice this when the car is stopped. And there is always more vibration with the car in drive or reverse vs parked or neutral. But pulse is still there. Not sure what to check next...

did you change the coils...?
@ericjohnson41645 жыл бұрын
@@BigTravGill thanks for your reply. No, haven't changes the coils. I just cleaned the throttle body yesterday and tried to reset the fuel trim and shift points - idled for 20 min and then drove for 10 miles... Gonna see what that does before I start spending more money. But, I'll look into that next for sure.

Just be careful because that valve cover becomes real brittle over time mines held together by super glue in more than one location nobody here in town has replacement careful boys
