i repair crv same model 2008, the aircon fan isn’t working so i just replace the motor of the auxiallary fan, it’s ok now no more overheating of the engine. thank you for sharing info to others!

That happened on my 07 CRV. Ended up being a bad fuse box. Replaced the fusebox and the fan relay and it’s fixed.

Just replaced my wife’s condenser fan on her civic LX Fan motor was running really slow and wouldn’t cool on idle or city traffic. Went to honda and purchased the fan motor only and it fixed the problem

@@og9839 if I remember correctly the car was not overheating at all The fan motor I replaced was the one on the passenger side of the vehicle. Still running fine until this day without any issues

This teo fans should turn on automatically when you turn the car on? Or only when the car gets hot? The reason I ask its because they just replaced mine, and the mechanic told me that the two were not on because the car was not hot. That they turn on when the temperature gets up halfway in the monitor display. Is that correct? I have a civic lx 2007.

YOU PULLED OUT THE WRONG RELAY, THAT'S WHY IT DIDN'T FIX IT. At 1:20 you pulled out the relay that is one up from the bottom. This is the WRONG RELAY. The relay you needed to change is the grey one AT the TOP RIGHT of the fuse box, two spots up is where you needed to be. When you change the grey relay at the TOP RIGHT of the box, it will make the other fan work, which causes the issue of the AC getting hot when you stop. You had me out there confused for hours. You're looking at the WRONG RELAY. THE RELAY THAT CONTROLS THE FANS ARE THE GRAY ONE AT THE TOP RIGHT CORNER, AND THE BLACK ONE TO ITS LEFT, AND THE BLACK ONE TO THE LEFT OF THAT BLACK ONE. THE THREE RELAYS ON THE TOP ROW CONTROL THE FANS. IF YOUR AC IS GETTING HOT WHEN YOU STOP MOVING, BUT YOUR CAR DOES NOT EVER OVERHEAT, CHECK THE GRAY RELAY AT THE TOP RIGHT CORNER!

This guy is a "master mechanic" he calls himself. Not only was he wrong on the location of the "fuse" he called it but yeah, the 3 relays on top are the correct ones. Hahaha. Wow...

Will this apply if I have the same issue but there is voltage coming to the connector? Could a failed relay cause that to happen or do I have to replace the fan? I bought the relay you were talking about will replace and see.

It's for the power heated mirrors. Many cars don't have them. Regardless he's changing the wrong relay. The relay needed to fix his issue was the grey relay at the top right corner at 1:20.

At 1:20 he pulled out the WRONG relay that is one up from the bottom. That is the WRONG RELAY. The relay you needed to change is the grey relay on the TOP RIGHT of the fuse box. He's pulling out a relay that has nothing to do with the fans. When you change the grey relay at the TOP RIGHT of the box, it will make the other fan work. The grey relay at the top right corner is the one that he needed to change to fix that car. It's the reason why the big fan spins and the other does not. IF you have a car which the AC gets hot when you stop, but car DOES NOT overheat, CHANGE THE TOP RIGHT GREY RELAY.

So... replacing the relay did nothing. Is that the takeaway? You swapped the relay, nothing happened. So you walked over to a different car. But the car you swapped the relay on..... Didn't get fixed in anyway.

Both fans should turn on when you turn on the AC. I believe both fans should also turn on eventually when you leave the car running idle for some time, without turning on your AC. Simple way to test this would be, turning on your car at home, leaving it run without driving it, and waiting about 10-20min until you see the fans turn on. They will eventually do it to keep the car’s radiator from overheating.

Dude the dude locations are on the box how’d you replace the wrong one. If you tested that out from the fuse box sure . But that’s why it isn’t doing anything. Test out the sensor on the condenser fan to see if it’s getting power . If it is ? Replace the fan .

mine isn't getting any power, but alll the relays seem to work fine. Check fuses as well.
