A quick video of the Lexx MXe exhaust on an '08 KLR650. This is with the quiet core spark arrestor installed, just like it comes in the box. The quiet core might be just a little louder than most stock exhausts. I bought it because my OEM silencer had been cut when I bought the bike and I wanted something quieter.
I tried to show the clearance between the pipe and the side panel. I trimmed the side panel and inner fender, but it is still close to the side panel. I plan to install some rubber spacers, between the side panel and the Lexx straps, to increase the distance to about 1/2".
This video was taken when the bike had about 22,000 miles and about 30 minutes after installing the Lexx.
Originally recorded with a Motorola DroidX.

I hear that from a bunch of Lexx owners, the springs breaking. I put my silencer and pipe together before installing them on the bike. The tabs don't line up the best either. I used needle nose pliers and pulled back as straight as possible (trying not to twist or flex the hook) and was surprized that I did it without breaking a spring. I had bought a couple stainless springs at the hardware store as spares just in case. I found springs that were close in length and stiffness. Hope this helps.

The tires are Michelin T63, around $50-60ea. The top tank bag is an older Rapid Transit (Recon I believe, not sure the size) and a large side ATV tank bags. The rear saddle bags are Cargo brand (Cargo Cari, I think is the full name?) and are great because they can expand out if needed. The saddle bags were CycleGear closeouts for about $70, now they are the Bilt brand and retail for $100 but can be had for $70 at times. The Tail bag is a Nelson Rigg, bought used and I have no idea of the model.

I noticed little, if any, performance gain, but I use the standard tip. The OEM silencer was butchered when I got it, I wanted something quieter. I have read that moving up, to one size larger tip and using an available drop in spark arrestor improves throttle response. There are optional tips available for the Lexx, it comes with the standard spark arrestor tip and a LOUD large tip (w/o arrestor) in the box. I did install a KLX jet kit from EagleMike, it comes with an adjustable needle.

I found out (the hard way) if u put a lowering link, with the lexx , it will hit the rear break bleeder & ding the muffler.

Actually, the rear saddlebags can be found for $50, not the $70 as previously mentioned. Cycle Gear has them on sale until March 3, 2013 for $49.99. They go on sale often, so I don't recommend paying the full $99.99 for them.

Sorry for the late reply, I was hoping to get a video for you. It will be a while before I can get around to filming it again. There used to be some nice videos on KZbin of the Lexx on a KLR riding on the road, accelerating and slowing down, cruizing etc. I don't know if they are still available though.

Really nice bike and great video showing off the Lexx. Especially the shot angles with narrative. On another note, was there something going on with your tail/brake light?

Thanks! And, no, the taillight is an LED unit and the camera makes it look like it's flickering, similar to the effect you get if you video an LCD monitor or TV.

Oh ok, thought maybe it was some kind of strobe or blinking warning system. BTW, just ordered the Lexx exhaust based on your video. Thanks for the post.

How often do you have to repack it?
@lsriley2

KLRCow I haven't repacked it yet, it is a little louder now than it was new, but not by much. When I do repack it, I would like to use stainless steel wool (if I can find any) and then never repack it again.
