2008 Mercury Mariner No Crank - Diagnosis

I believe no crank also happens if the ignition fuse is blown (correct me if I’m wrong). That might be worth checking first for anyone having this issue

I followed this video and thank you it helped me. However, now I am starting my car like this for the last 2 years 😂 Maybe it is time to take it to the dealership for permanent fix which I don't know if the lock cylinder needs to be replaced or what.

What if using a screw driver work for a little while and then it stopped starting all together?

I bought a new switch and I still don't get any cranks, no start. Do you have any idea what I am facing?

My 2005 is doing the same thing, i install a new starter it still does not start, what did you change, is it the ignition switch, if yes did you install it your self does it need to be program after instalation? Thanks

Is there a way to clean the switch or get it to sit more firmly in place? I did the removal, did the screwdriver, worked, but when I click it back into place i can start it as long as my finger is on it kinda holding it in closer contact maybe? When I put it all back together, I can stick my thumb up underneath and push the switch a bit and start it right up.

I tried the new switch it didn't work. Getting a new ignition module today. Didn't know if it might be the battery or the starter?

Sorry getting an ignition lock cylinder because that's what went bad. I could start it with the screw driver. But now it won't start with it, so I used the new switch we bought and it didn't work either.

Same here. I replace the stupid switch and it still won't start.
