DUDE. I spent the entire day on the phone with dealerships, locksmiths, mechanics ... ALL MANSPLAINING to me that I need to be towed to be diagnosed. I broke my remote and I locked my car doors. October 2024, Saturn ion lock light flashing, looking through my Saturn book and KZbin with no fixes just blah blah finally saw your video put the key in bells and whistles going off and left the key in until the lock light stopped flashing and pulled the key out and stuck it back in and it started thank you for spending the time to make this video and getting to the point on a awesome fix! You saved my ass! I'm having to use an inverter on the truck to run heat inside my house because of all chances, it would be the totally wrong time to be without heat and electricity in the house. Now the the truck is running I can use the inverter and I have lights and heat in my house, awesome thank you so much!!! To add to that my next step was going to be to disconnect the battery to reboot the entire system which probably would have worked so if this particular fix doesn't occur for everyone you might try disconnecting the battery letting it sit for five or 10 minutes and then reconnect it and see if that doesn't help.

Those of you with GM cars check the fuse box on the fender well. These boxes are notorious for coming loose. There are 3 screws in the middle of the box. Make sure they are tight. This box grounds to the body. If the box is loose it will intermittantly lose contact and can cause the security mode to initiate.

This happened to me when I had a key that had sat around for about 3 years. The fix works. My problem was I could start the van and it would not run unless I had my foot on the gas soon as I took my foot off the van would die. I turned it to on let it set about 15 minutes turned it off and then it started normally and ran normally

It as though when you bypass one problem the computer just shuts off the next component, why did the car companies do this bullshit to us? It's as if they put a time bomb in our vehicles and sold them to us just waiting for their huge profits to roll in from future parts and labor they must of known they would be able to charge because of their inferior programming and designs! The security system basically starves the engine of fuel. Which Is why you hear that clunking sound right before it shuts it off, almost sounds like a muffled explosion right? That's the security system cutting off the engines access to the fuel, which interferes with the engines combustion (which is basically what makes the engine run (a bunch of tiny explosions.

Just sharin to my experience!!! I currently have 2 appointments one for dealer and another for a decent auto service. My main mechanic referred me to another guy to save money. That however started a chain of 4 straight times of being sent to the next man. They were either backed up, didnt have programming capability, or just plain out did not want to deal with it. ITS A PAIN. Some will tell you straight up you might need to see your dealer. Got to make an appointment.for who knows when. Then they cant read the code if the LIGHT IS OUT!!!!. Guess what i have an upcoming appointment and the LIGHT IS OUT. But no sooner i cancel it will be back on . Hopefully and maybe when i crank up the light will be on when i drive it to the shop , just me venting

For anyone with a Toyota Camry 2011. I have the push start. And an anti theft system that unlocks the door by itself when you come close to the door handle. What I think happened is I open the door to quickly. The blue security might was flashing. My key fob wasn’t working. And the dash cane on a the radio worked. After waiting a bit I pressed the push start button. Then i pressed the unlock button on the key fob. Turned right back on. Luckily worked.

Just flashed the red car and lock and I noticed I never seen it before. Now I know why it has police traceable stickers all over it 🙄. Hey this happened to me on my lancer 2001, I have changed my lock barrels since it had two key to open doors and for ignition, I have install new immobiliser unit and lock barrel now vehicle cranks no ignition(even with old key and immobiliser) . Took my daughters car to have brakes fixed. Mechanic said he was baking car out and it went into reverse and took gear hard. You can also reset it by using your key to lock your door and then unlock it with key and go back to center and then unlock position and back to center 2 more times and then wait 3 minutes and it will start. That's how ive reset my several times and i have a 2002 chevy silverado. I will try your way next time just to have a back up incase my way quits working

I just finished assembling my car after rebuilding the engine and transmission. The car has been layed up for 15 months due to parts etc. on my first startup attempt the car turn 3 xs but didn't start . On forth attempt I got the no crank no start problem. I'm gonna try this when I get back home and hope it works . I've already checked battery , starter , relays and fuses everything is working. I jumped the starter from the relay and it turns the motor . From beginning I thought either the car thinks its in gear or the security system is stoping it from starting . Wish me luck 😂

For my Ford Territory. The flashing light. Is the 'stop hand' ✋& car 🚗 light. It's one light. It flashes as I turn the key to the last position before it turns over. And it doesn't allow for me to start. Just like in this video. Will this be the same principle, given its a different light. Vehicle is New Zealand

My red security light blinks but when the key is in the on position it just stays solid!(No blinking) Tried this fix for 15 minutes and it didnt work. Disconnected the negative battery cables for 15 minutes and it didnt work ! Then disconnected them both for overnight and it still didnt work.

Mine don't flash. Ill do the key back and forth and it'll eventually turn on but gauges don't work. When I leave the key on like you said, it goes off and back on in about 10 seconds and off again but all the while I hear a mechanical sound like ticking.

Sounds like your battery may be very low. It may not have enough power to start. The ticking may be relays and or starter trying to engage but there is not enough power. Have you tried a jump start?

So let me see if I get this right.I got a copy of my girls 2002 Honda Civic key but it won't stat the car at all and so all I got to do is follow these steps to have it working? Now what about the original copy do I need to reprogram it as well or it will be fine?

Hello sir, does anti theft light always turn on when when system is activated? Had a mechanic tell me my problem for no spark is anti theft but no dash light flashing.

There is an antitheft module that may be bad. I did have a vehicle that needed the same procedure shown in the video which worked even without the security light on. Try the method in the video. Also read through all the comments because some people have alternate methods which work also. Also check to see if there is an aftermarket alarm that may be preventing it from starting.

Reading the comments, I say this is a dirty low down shame, that a factory anti-theft system causes GM customers to be without their vehicles for so long trying to figure this out.

I have that problem in my van but it doesn't always flash and when it does I lock the key and remove it. I wait 10 min. and it starts. If I do that, will the problem go away forever or do I have to do that all the time?

This happened to me,I have a 2012 hyundai elantra ended up being late for work. The hazard lights where flashing with no start. Everyone came to my rescue, check battery, starter.Then the gentleman told me to come out the car. He remotely locked the door and double click to unlock. My anti- theft locking system did shut down the car. So when I see this happened again I knew what to do.

I hope it works out for you. Good luck. You may just need jumper cables hooked up to the battery to charge it with another vehicle if possible. You may not need a new battery.

My 99 cavalier won't crank at all , has power lights wipers everything works . I turn the key and it won't crank at all my security light stays solid tho ? It says "theft system" and is just on no flash . What you think?

So I was told that I didn't have the chip in my original key, no spare key, and was told that I needed to have a new key cut and have it programmed to my car. It just cost a small fortune as the key I had cut at Lowe's would not crank the car either. Just had that done a few days ago and sometimes I feel like the car may not crank again and just yesterday I had problems moving the gear from Park to drive or to anything. That's starting to frighten me. Does that have anything to do with having the key programmed again. Thanks for such an awesome video, wish I had tried this before calling a locksmith out that research told me would be cheaper than Towing the car to the dealership.
