Great video. Saved me £100. Disc pads still good at 91,000 miles on my outlander.

This video is brilliant, thank you so much for taking the time to upload it. Really is such a simple task (after watching this). The G-clamp was a brilliant tip too. Cheers mate

Thanks mate! Doing the same job to same car. I was confused which slide bolts go where. One has a rubber sleeve. I think that was your top one. Nice job, well explained. Thank you 👍

Top stuff mate. Very clearly explained & easy to see. About to do our 09 2.4 4wd outlander. Should be similar. What was the clear lube you used on the pins? If ya do any more work on it, whack it up. That was the best vid on here by a country mile bro Cheers Rod... Aus.

Thank you for the kind words, it means a lot to me. The clear grease that I used is silicone paste or silicone grease, it can be a bit hard to find but most auto stores will have it. As for your model (09) the brakes should be the same if not very similar. Thanks Jay

@@jayfix6126 Got it done mate. The day before i did it an abs service warning came up on the dash display, which was a worry. I changed the pads using your vid as a guide & they went in ezy as. On the first test drive around the block the warning signal cleared itself.i had an issue though. On the fr left caliper 1 of the pins bolt was rounded off. Your method enabled me to get it done only undoing the other pin but still lubing both. The pads on this side were shot but the otherside were still 50% which makes me think only 1 side was replaced in the past due to the rounded bolt. I did both sides. Cheers again mate. Rod...

When you greased the other pin and slid it through the gator the grease slid up and was deposited on the thread?

mate. what about the rear brakes? I have an outlander 2007 and the rear caliper bolt seems to be so close to the caliper brake lines and I cannot remove the upper bolt because of that brake line. As far as i can see you must remove first the brake lines then you can remove the upper caliper bolt. Any tips with people that is just starting to do DIY mechanics?

Can you please tell me what is the brown paste?
@jayfix6126
@jayfix6126 2 жыл бұрын
Hi The brown paste is called "Copper Anti Seize" it helps to stop the pads from binding, you should be able to get it at most auto stores or online. Hope this helps.
