This is a huge long shot and I’m not sure I’m even going to get a reply. But this video helped me so much and I changed the battery perfectly. But not even a month later the battery died again and this keeps happening, any reason why that might be?

Sometimes you get a bad batch of battery. So get yourself a brand name high quality battery and try again.

Battery died and I didn’t replace it for a couple weeks. I put a new one in like you did but it’s not lighting up or working. I might have to take it to Toyota to reprogram.

Your fob looks very similar to my 2009 corolla fob, but internally it's not exactly the same. The metal contact ring is not hooked up to anything; it just floats around loose and has to be exactly positioned for the fob to work. Very difficult.

lol I just checked another video and that one made it clear that the two rectangular "pads" are supposed to be soldered onto the back of the circuit board, and mine aren't. Explains a lot.

Mystery solved: somebody (car is used, very used) and at some point somebody forced a 2032 battery in there, which probably broke the solder joints.

Hi Gilberto, there is a pretty good chance they sell the shell alone, check eBay. Worst case you may have to buy a complete key and just take the shell. Best of luck and let me know how it goes. _Randomfix

Same happened to me , then my car wouldn’t start, I put took the fob apart put the key back in and it started after unlocking and locking a few times , gonna try a new fob, thanks for the video

The alarm? You are speaking of the factory theft deterrent system? If your factory system is going off it can normally be turned off by turn the key clockwise on the driver door. I normally turn it twice with a double turn tap.
