If you’re watching this, do yourself a favor and use Tom’s Keys to make your Toyota key. I used the Toyota Keymaker and I got the strange light turned on that he talks about at the end, and I couldn’t get the remote parts working. He’s right that it’s fine fir a valet key. The Tom’s Keys gadget programmed everything really well, it worked with my cheap Amazon keys, and it got rid of that weird light too. Thanks El Chano Jose!

that is the security indicator light, the flashing means that its not armed, park the vehicle and turn the key from on to off five times ending with OFF, remove the key then start it and see if the light remains off. This has worked for me after programming new key I had the flashing light issue. Hope this helps someone.

Jose, what model and year Toyota is that? From the video, it looks like it will program an unprogrammed key, but it will unprogram a programmed key. I don't like that new flashing security light, though. I wonder if someone has posted instructions for making one of these key programmers. I suppose, though, that there's an internal chip with software to interact with the car computer. My 2006 Scion tC uses the same transponder key as a friend's 2008 Toyota Matrix, but I can program new keys using the procedure where you open and close the door 5 times, but that won't work on the Matrix. (The pressing-the-pedals routine doesn't work, either.) The Smart Keymaker is supposed to work on the 2008 Matrix, which is why I bought one and am now looking for the right instructions.

That light is the SEC light (security light) You can remove the error code with OBD2 reader.

To clear that security lights flashing, you need to insert the master key and turn to ignition 5 times with less than 5 seconds. It will clear the code.

@@west_park7993 Most of the 2000s toyota vehicle are programmed for two master keys only. That's meant one of your key is being deleted from the systems. You can program your master key back by doing the same way. If you want more than 2 keys, you need to clone it.

How were you able to clear the transponder keys from the ECU? You mentioned disconnecting everything. Is there a way to do this by disconnecting the ECU, or did you use an OBD-II cable and TechStream?

you have to use a paper clip and connect terminal 4 unto terminal 13 on the OBD socket, and leave the ignition ON for 30 minutes, however before you do that, disconnect the battery, (the main earth side- NEGATIVE terminal) and using a jumper cable connect the positive cable of the battery to EARTH,remember the other earth (negative cable) MUST be disconnected whilst you're doing this,this will dissipate all the charge in the system and flatten the capacitors in the ECU, do this for about 5 minutes, then proceed with the 1st part of this instructions (reconnect the earth cable back on) 1st, once all this is done, your ready to reprogram the keys.

RAV4 2010, dot on the original blade. Bought 2 keys from ebay. Seller said, chip is 4D67 and will work. When you plug the obd keymaker, the computer goes into solid red SEC programming mode. Very difficult to get out of programming. In your clip, as soon as you removed the key, the SEC light goes off, but in mine, it stays on. I tried to turn it off by quickly turning the original key on-off a few times, and now the car will not start with the original key!!! All online instructions I found: All keys are lost, you must press the LED button constantly. Can anyone tell me where is the ???? LED button? There is a LED light on the keymaker, but no button to push. Any help will be appreciated.

Hello Jasón! I have not yet run in to that situation but it works. The only thing is that the new key has to be cut and that is why you need on car key to get the right cut so it can turn the ignition. If you have no key to copy the new one, how are you going to turn on the ignition?

@@elchanojose If you dont cut the blank key before programming, it should turn the ignition on. A locksmith can cut your blank "uncut key" if you remove the driver side switch and take it to him.

This device only works on old Shitbeater cars. New Toyota vehicles 2012-2020 keys need to be done at the dealership.

WRONG! You can buy an OBD port programmer for Type G or Type H keys; OR......... you can buy a VCI mini cable and use Toyota Techstream software with a laptop. Both of those options are cheaper than going to the stealership!

If you want your key to work EXACTLY like the original one with all the functions to open the trunk and operate the alarm system you need to have the dealership program a new key.
