About 2 years ago, we got a used '05 Highlander, and it still works great to this day! Even though it is only the base model, it still has everything I need. Power adjusting driver seat (no power adjusting passenger seat), pretty good stock stereo, as well as decent fuel economy. Also, we custom installed a keyless entry system with remote start from Ziebart, which works really nice for those really cold and hot days, and is something that wasn't available for this car back then.

Yeah, sometimes the base model is the least you can have among other nice amenities. The important thing is that you have everything needed to make your drive/ride satisfiable. ;)

Honestly the gas mileage is the same. 4runner is amazing in snow. Only down side is no third row. But screw that, 5 peeps in a car is enough.

@@er1115 that's not the only down side. if you're looking used, the 4runner is way more expensive. and in this particular model year, the 4runner had frame issues. it also has a way worse ride. I love the 4runner though, but I am not sure I could justify those things to look like an offroader.

Hopefully I'll be getting this car for college around this time next year =) My mom and dad both got 1990 toyota camrys when they started driving. And now dad go tundra truck and mom a sienna van. Both never broken down ever. zero problems. So would be a wise choice for me to get a toyota and pass my accord to my lil bro! My uncle got this same model after he graduated from college as a doctor.

I was thinking the same thing, but when they were talking about the popular SUVs I realized why they didn't mention it. Although I LOVE The LC, and it is my dream car, it doesn't sell well in the US and isn't really known about sadly.

anybody else experienced a horrible ride in comparison to previous highlanders? New 2010 is very rough and seating very uncomfortable. They had something good with earlier models and went cheap!!!!! plastic everywhere, a dollar store radio, disposable toyo tires and over all clumsy
