2008 VW Jetta 2.5L Custom Fab Exhaust

My 2.5L with a custom built exhaust; It features a 6 in. straight through muffler, and a catless straight pipe swap to 3 in. tips. Other mods include a cold air and 6000k HID's. This will be the most I mod it until the turbo build...let me know what you think!

In reality, Volkswagen went, took a Gallardo V10 and practically sawed it in half to create this engine. Only thing is that they de-tuned it to make it more suitable for their cars. So it is effectively half of a Lamborghini engine

Joel Peñaló that's not true, because bore x stroke is the same (lambo 5.0 v10 engine, and vw 2.0 tfsi ) but all these engine have different specification to each other like oil pump, crankcase, ecc. Check the "list of vw petrol engine " on Wikipedia for more details.

you could compare it to a lambo v10...def not as fast as one...or even half one for that matter. but honestly just as fun to drive...without worrying about being responsible for $300,000

It's the firing order, which makes the engine sound like it sounds, and VW group (including Audi) 5 cylinder engines all use the same firing order as their big V10 brothers, hence the similar sound.

Im so glad VW brought back the 5cyl motor for the S3. The old S2 was such a great sounding machine. The v10 style sound the 5cyl has is one of my favorite all time motor notes. I swap my 2.7t for a s2 motor any day, or a 2.5i turbo just for that sound ♡

I think this car is so underrated, I love it. I have on 08 2.5 manual and it's a blast to drive. Cornering, engine torque, sound, intake noise... and I have 80K miles on it right now and all I've had to change was the fan because I dropped a wire in it while it was running.

I honestly hate mine, it's boring to drive compared to many other cars I've been in lately. Cars paid off so I'll upgrade another day, save some cash for awhile. I have two buddies with the 2.0T and the TDI, way more enjoyable to drive.

which muffler from magnaflow did you acquire? im using a flowmaster 40 and this destroys the sound im making. I would like to know the exact model because you have now inspired me to make it on my Mk6 model.

I made the initial build by hand...designed and welded it myself. However, i suck at welding, and there was alot of leaks, so I brought the designs to a local welding shop, and they built it on site in about 2 hours. Did a fantastic job. and its a loud exhaust, there is a bit of drone. Its not obnoxious, but if you don't want to hear the exhaust when you're driving, its not for you.

Thanks! And yah, this system is modular...the cat can be swapped out for a straight pipe section that has been fitted with bungs for the factory O2's. It has a 6 in. straight through muffler after the cat/straight pipe.

haha thanks man! yahh there's no resonators, just a straight through...did a lot of r&d before i built this, so im pretty damn happy with how it came out. And this what im calling the Stage 1 R25...Stage 2 will include the turbo build, and Stage 3 will be a respray and a custom fiberglass body work. Stage 2 is next year, and Stage 3 the year after that. Im going to try and start a vid blog of the build, so we'll see how that goes lol Thanks for the comment bro!

Ok if you replace the cat with the 6" pipe and weld a nut on so that your o2 senser well fit well your icon still read the code for not having a cat muffle or any back presser
