I bought new the last year they made the VW rabbit with the 5cyl 2.5 I wanted to love it but it got V8 gas mileage and after a week check engine light and the dealership bought it back from me and hooked me up with a Mark 5 Golf GTI with the DSG trans. Miss both of those cars.

I cut the pipe right past the catalytic converter and then found that the previous owner had already hollowed out the cat. So now guess who's 2010 Jetta is crazy loud. But I still think it sounds cool af especially when u run it up to 5 grand in 3rd gear and let off and just coast. It's got a wicked crackle and pop. Gotta love that 2.5 ❤️❤️

Any improvement in performance? Have you done 0 to 60 runs and compared to before the tune? And how much does it affect fuel economy?

Have not done comparisons on 0-60 but it is better performance for sure. Gas mileage drops off with each stage but not drastically. More power = more fuel ⛽️

I used to just cut off my mufflers. I got over getting pulled over all the time. now i drive a 1.8t mkiv jetta, I don’t have a license so I just run cold air intake, sounds way better in my opinion, low key and more control over the attention you attract..

It gets pretty loud on wide open throttle. You can drive it tame to keep the noise down, but thats no fun. I would look into an AWE exhaust. Better sound but not as loud.

You should have electric on an 08. They didn’t go to hydraulic until the Mk6 as far as I know. Pop the hood and look for a fluid reservoir by the intake/battery.

Ya, I don’t think thats how it works. The tune is reliable. I have had ZERO issues with Integrated Engineering.

so I ordered the manifold and then returned it,I guess my 2011 mk6 has tje hydraulic power steering, fml..haha..I was so excited too,and they don't make one intake manifold that fits over one of those?I mean do I even need the manifold ? I'm st8 piped ,k&n cold air.already stage 1 tuned.sucks man just sucks..maybe u have more info on this cause I can't seem to find an answer, people say get a 2.0 turbo for upgrades ..pssst...I like my 2.5 inline 5..

Unfortunately the intake manifold only works with electric steering. You would have to convert from hydraulic to electric to go stage 2.

It would be louder than stock. I would imagine it would be a good level. The factory resonator is pretty restrictive. I have been thinking about adding a Vibrant Ultra Quiet resonator to my system, just to smooth it out a little.

Mine is a 5spd manual. These tunes are from Integrated Engineering and they can be flashed by the user at home via their powerlink module. I have a video walking through the flashing process on my channel.

It should not. As long as you dont mess with the catalytic converter and O2 sensors.

When I went stage 2 I did not initially have the intake (I had the manifold but not the intake). I had a cone filter directly on the throttle body. I later added the intake to make the complete setup.

The muffler shop I went to charges about $100 per section (cut out and weld in pipe). There are two mufflers and a resonator to delete. Plus you need to supply the exhaust tips that you want. Of course, every muffler shop is different.

I DO have the intake manifold. I just didn’t have the intake itself from their power kit. I had a cone filter directly on the throttle body. The manifold is required for stage 2. Sorry for the confusion. 😜

@@adamcarroll1320 there are no turbo “kits” for the 2.5. Anything labeled as such is going to be garbage. Its a build your own type deal for these motors. There’s a good Facebook group for this motor that is filled with people who have done it. As for the coils. With my offset I will rub when low low or with a bunch of weight in the car. A narrower offset wheel would clear better.
