Watch a full tutorial as a 2012 Dodge Ram Truck will have a Pioneer Double Din Touch Screen Radio installed. This new radio features both Apple CarPlay along with bluetooth functionality.
This video applies to Dodge Ram 1500, 2500, and 3500 models for years 2009, 2010, 2011, and 2012. This video also includes dash trim and stereo removal, complete installation, wiring, and testing.
NOTE: Our Ram was not equipped with the upgraded Alpine sound system, however, all parts shown will work without without the premium audio.

The factory dash if not tampered with has 5 torx T20, not two as shown in the video. The last guy who put the dash together obviously only put back the top two. great vid but we need to do the homework. I had to remove the plastic cover around the centre console coffee cup holders to wiggle the dash piece off.

My pioneer will let you play video on the screen but you have to connect the parking brake wire and it still won’t allow video until you set the parking brake, turn it off and then set it again.

2012 ram Swrcr-59 Boss bvcp9700a The unit turned on perfectly with the ignition but is staying powered on after truck is stopped and door opened. Yellow constant to yellow constant (memory) Red acc to red acc It's wired exactly as your video and the kit instructs. Is this a faulty wiring harness? TIA

Where did u hook up the red it has did u bypass sometimes to get power

When. you use the correct wiring harness (smart harness), no need to manually wire in the red accessory wire. Our smart harness generated the accessory wire as it's done via the data canbus of the truck. Please don't cut corners and use the wrong harness adapter. The right harness is linked in the description of the video.

In the backup camera video (not this video), we used the power socket to power the camera @ 8:05 in that video. The reverse trigger for the radio was generated by the Crux smart harness used in this video. kzbin.info/www/bejne/nH7UhmOEm6-Gprc

If the factory mic wire is wired to the aftermarket radio that will be the mic by default

Some do, some don’t. Depends on your trim. If you have the Alpine / Infinity factory audio, yes, you’d have an amp.

The but we used will accommodate any standard size double din 4” tall chassis (regardless of screen size). This is a 6.2”

One more question. I noticed this is a 6.2 in. Will a 6.8 in fit? If not is there another stereo you recommend that supports android?
