Nice video man, this job seems a whole lot easier than the fuel filter replacement on the 4th gen 3.0r!
@CartuneNZ6 жыл бұрын
Thanks. I can do this one quicker than the total length of the video when I'm in the right mood. They are pretty simple. I did this job as a break from tricky stuff as I don't really have to think on it. I have a mate with a 3.0r so maybe I should do his one too for another video.

@@spiritofsubaru5307 I was looking for an earlier 3 litre myself but this 3.6 cam up at a good price. NZ new Premium with leather. I think the 3 litre is a better engine though and the 4 speed auto being a better trans too. I won't be doing too much subaru stuff though. Not my main work. I also have an old forester I drive around the farm. Better than a quad and surprisingly good offroad.

@@CartuneNZ I can tell you they are a good ride. I have an NZ new 6mt bsepc 3.0r with leather/sunroof etc, very nice to drive. Lots of fun with the avcs+avls, Ill try to make some more content to show it. I like the idea of the forester farm hack, probably great for carting firewood to and fro!

This is an insane amount of work to replace a fuel filter. It is just slightly easier than replacing the highlight bulbs. I think my first Subaru will be my last.

These are fast to do once you know what to do. Ive taken just as long as doing the external type which are bolted low on firewall where airbox and other bits need to be removed.

Good video, but I am confused. Isn’t the filter basket the only thing that needs to be replaced? The rest seems to be hard plastic which would be good as new once cleaned out. (Assuming the seals were still good.)

It's a really simple job and only required infrequently. I can do the whole job in about 20 minutes which is comparable to many seemingly easier to access filters. I like it as it compact and keeps things simple.

I change my filter every 50000km, so no way I'm changing a fuel pump that often, and its only about a 20 minute job when I'm not holding a camera.
