Hi, I would like to remove only the armrest (don't need to remove or replace parts of the gear shift/trim or cigarette lighter tray) as mine is broken and need to be replaced with a new one. I have a 2012 Q5 Premium Plus 2.0T. Is the process off removing just the armrest the same for what I'm replacing or can I just remove the plastic trim by the passenger vents to access the torx screws to remove complete arm rest unit. By the way, I'm not just replacing the parts of the armrest that is visible but also the mechanism that is partially hidden below the trim( ie. the 2 cresent moon shaped swivels) that allows it to swivel upwards (to access the storage inside). I hope that makes sense. Plas let me know if there is any video you can recommend or is the process is simpler as I mentioned at the beginning. Thanks! You're the only video I have found that shows nice and clearly where they torx srews are located. Great job on that

Hi. Never done it, but I’m pretty sure if you remove rear ac vent trim with grilles, you should be able to replace just the armrest, if not, then remove the whole think, and it will be much easier to work with, but maybe there is a way to replace it without the extra work, I don’t know. I’m sorry. Thank you.
