Just bought my son a 09 A3, and after fixing everything, I'm left with a lean condition, which i'm about 95% sure is his rear main, and I found it somewhat comical as you talked about your friend replacing his trans, and the shop not doing the rear main at that time. His mother has a Fusion that had a bad transmission, and the dealership did the same thing. Her rear main went soon after they worked on it, so out the trans had to come again. :( lol Out of curiousity, did you use another jack, or trans jack to pull the trans out? I've done my FWD V6 SHO's trans / clutch a few times, so I'm familiar with pulling a trans like this, but just curious what you used so you could 'wiggle' it loose and around everything.

Thanks for the video. Agree, AUDi, VW, or whoever in zeeGermany is doing this needs to be replaced. And you are right , replace what you can now. Plastic everywhere. Its a shame they went this route. Not nice of them. Like anything, a little bit of extra work will make the job go smoother. Get everything out of the way. Its only bolts. Not a mechanic but isn't that thin metal "washer" a block plate ? Doesn't matter either way, "the thing" goes back in. Ok , time to flip a coin - I do or I contract it out. Thanks again,.

yo man it's not a hex if it's got 12 points. hex means six

ITS CALLED HEX BECAUSE IT HAS SIX SIDES!!!!

@@michaelwitmer7536 so whats it called....just looked it up DODECAGON...lol...Imma stick with can I have a 12 point Hex driverset....do notice some call them HEX TORX

@@timidtornado2869 They are triple square's. If you look at the way they are cut, the angles of the 12 points are 90 degree.
