best video so far including the drive shaft flange showing the hex bolt needed to be removed. I got stuck with this flange and could not get the gearbox out as the flange was caught on the dust plate sandwiched between gearbox and engine. Such a pain!!!

Yea, without removing that flange, I don't think it's possible to get it out. Much respect!

You are very professional man. All your videos are very helpful. Especially the Passat b5.5 chassis vehicle video is the video and work that I want the most from you. I had to sell my car but now I'm still using the b5 passat. So the more b5 and b5.5 videos come the better it will be for me man. I wish you continued success, hey man. I'm following. Very cool vid. I needed to change the driveshafts and this helped. Tell me please. I have the 1.6BSE engine which several cars have and wondered abt if I went 1.8 or 2.0 motor, will the manual gearbox mount the same? Thanks

I have that. Same red and black plastic covered ratchet from harbor freight. I like it better than my expensive snap on. Get a transmission jack from HF. $60. Worth it even if you use it once

Yea, I got quite a few decent ratchets from Harbor Freight and I like them. Yea, I'm definitely going to look into the transmission jack.

That's a very very good how to. I will definately use it. 2 questions, why did you take out the 2 bolts from the downpipe to the subframe? And did you remove the right drivershaft just to remove the flange in the gearbox? So I assume it is necessary?
@CraftyWorkshopBuilds Жыл бұрын
I removed the two bolts on the downpipe to the subframe because I need to lower the engine to make clearance to take out the transmission. The downpipe is connected to the engine, so when I lower the engine, the downpipe will get lower as well. Yes, axle needs to come out in order to remove the flange.
