My daughters AC was broken, finally solved it after the engine coolant boiled and forced the car off the road...turned out both fan motors had worn out the bushings. Replaced them and the car is back to normal...absolute tanks these things.

Finally a video that covers everything about the air mix door. Now I can check if my air mix door is moving all the way to the closed no heat position before I decide what yo check next.

@@dannysdiygarage I had a code 4 ( 4 times the light blinking , ) but I replaced the other side door actuator . Now I found out the driver side one wasn’t working too , So I bought the motor , it happened to be the same one than the other side , ( inside mechanism ) so I bought another one and I connected it , It turns around , but ac Doesn’t turn on .. just blows air . What do you think it could be the issue ? Now I didn’t installed properly just checked if it turns around , Do I gotta INSTALL it properly to actually use the Ac . ? I disconnected it because since without it my car blows ac normally. But I don’t know if it was due I didn’t installed properly to the linkage and that’s why the AC doesn’t turn on ?!

Many things cause this, usually low on Freon, but it can be other things, I go over this in other videos, I’ll probably make a video using gauges and what the readings mean

@@dannysdiygarage I hooked up the low side side to the guage and it was right at 90psi so I believe the freon is perfect there. Ive swapped many ac components already, still stumped..

definitely have the same issue u had. im gonna buy acpro and just add in freon lil by lil to see if that changes. the AC works fine if its like maybe 70-80 degrees outside but 80+ close to 90+ it craps out after like 15-30 minutes. fans still blowing. belt to condenser is spinning. so I'm sure i know i need freon.
@RavagHer
@RavagHer Ай бұрын
@@MiguelHernandez-fd4rmbro isnt 90 psi way too much? u might of damaged ur ac system if u put too much freon in.

So question: when I press the recirculate button, air still comes out of the vents front vents. Is this normal? Or, is that a fix by replacing the blend door actuator?. Love your videos!

Hi danny, I love your videos and i've been doing some fixes to my car thanks to you! I have a 2011 Honda Civic LX but i have a problem with the a/c during daytime, compressor and fans don't turn on when i turn the a/c on, i live in a city where during daytime we are at 110 - 120 degrees fahrenheit, during nighttime we are around 85 - 90 degrees fahrenheit but at this temperature the a/c works perfect, i don't even have to put it on Max A/C, on the blower speed i always use option 2 or 3 which is very low and on the temperature i use options 2 - 4 and that is just perfect to have cold air. This is what i've done so far to my car: - Flushed coolant and put brand new coolant - Changed thermostat - Changed radiator cap - New condenser - Freon service (R134a) - Changed A/C Compressor Relay - Changed MG Clutch fuse I did troubleshoot it and gave me Code #4 Thanks and i'll appreciate any advise you can give me on what could be the problem

Great video. Any chance you can drop That part number for me? The one that keeps popping up on Amazon looks to be for the modes rather than blend door.

These types of videos are like giving you a fish. Great if you have a 2009 civic with this exact problem. How do you figure out what the wires do so you can apply to any car or defective part of car (ie learn to fish for myself)?

Hi @Dannys DIY Garage Thanks for the great video. I have a question about my 2009 Civic. My car seems to only produce hot or warm air depending on how far I crank the temp knob clock wise or counter clock wise. I ran a system check and got the 4 blinking lights, indicating a faulty actuator on the passenger side (I checked and it did not work when switching between modes). I found that the actuator on the passenger side is stuck in the face-only position and can’t blow air to the feet. The driver-side actuator is working fine. I thought that even with a stuck passenger-side actuator, I’d still be able to get cold air. But it seems like the opposite is happening. Any thoughts on this? Ty!

Hey Danny my 09 civic is currently having some issues with the ac system. Intermittently it blows cold air but then it blows hot air and the ac stops working completely. When it does blow cold air it also smells musty and gross at the beginning. Any tips for diagnosis?

Thanks for the video! I have a question and hope you can help. I don’t get any trouble codes when performing the control panel test. My car has had trouble blowing cold air. It seems to only blow ambient/outside air temp. It used to have an issue where it could still blow cold air but after driving for 30 minutes, the volume of air would be very little. But now it’s mostly unable to blow cold air.

Do you have a video on how to re-seal the AC recirculation/outside air flap which is part of the blower assembly? Asking because even when I have the AC on "recirculate", exhaust fumes from other vehicles still get inside my Civic especially during heavy stop-and-go traffic.
